Making the KP away end smaller.

Recommended Posts

After the excellent work by Union FS and @Foxes_Trust getting general sale back, it's now time to ask the club to make our away end at the King Power smaller and allow more home fans in.

In the grand scheme of things our away end is one of the biggest in the country, we don't get the same at other clubs so why should they get that here?

For example we offer 3,286 OR 3,305 and there are still two or three columns of seats under blue netting in the away end, meaning its actually 150 seats or so bigger than the 3,286 or 3,305.

Example of away allocations

Manchester United - 3,094

Arsenal - 3,003

Chelsea - 2,986

Liverpool - 2,936

Manchester City - I couldn't find.

We need to move to something like Arsenal and Tottenham have where they can shorten or extend the away end depending on the team or it being a cup game.

We currently have the stairs inbetween fans where the Stewards and Police stand

Example - Arsenal normal away end

Isn't this related to how the concourse was set out?

It could well be, however if you look at my posts in the Ground expansion thread shows the away end moving away from L and more into the family stand when it's done, so it can be done.

Just to confirm what was said in the meeting with the club the other night. Reciprocal deals are made on allocations (or at least this season due to lower mandatory allocations of 2,000). That's why we got 4,500 last week and why they got 3,300 at our place.

However, as mentioned above, there are some anomalies. Ipswich gave us 2,000 when they could have given us more (their ground is not much smaller than ours) but we then give the big allocation. Certainly Norwich and WBA have already been earmarked as ones to reduce allocation for as they shafted us when we went there. Birmingham and Blackburn can be given the benefit of the doubt as they gave us 2,600 and as much as we wanted respectively. I don't think Blackburn will bring more than 2,400 last game anyway.

Back to the point of reducing the allocation, surely this is possible regardless of concourse size. It just means reconstructing the seating arrangement a little bit and putting the police/steward divide in a little bit.

On either side you could bring home fans in a bit and move the dividing line to give away fans 3,000ish and us about 300 seats more. However, with the incoming expansion, the club may be reluctant to make any changes now.

It has been noted for the next meeting.

But when away teams don’t sell out, as seen this season M3 is sold to home fans.

When the expansion happens, I'd suggest we split the away fans between the two tiers, 2k in the lower and 1k in the upper, diluting the away fans atmosphere and giving more flexibility to reduce the allocation to 2k when that's all that's needed.

We could even move fans from L1 when the powers that be kick them out of there into M1 to keep them next to the away fans to facilitate goading.

The thread is about what we give as an away allocation comapred to what we get given.

Not sure how you don't understand that.

Almost true.

The comparisons were shown just to highlight how many more we give. Forget other teams..its about getting our fans more tickets.

Look how many more we could give our own. Effectively bringing in a group of mates, families and so on. The only tickets left now are the odd singles dotted here and there and it stops people from going.

Threads about us giving less tickets to away teams at our place, Cov have already been here, what has Cov got to do with anything

I think one of numerous issues when they designed the lay out was giving the away fans a corner rather than a stand. Could always have given us half of the stand for smaller teams visiting.

Making it a corner, and infamous age-old debate about the family stand being next to it seen the complete transition from Leicester being an intimidating away day at Filbert Street.

One small part of it.

If the away team only bought 200 I doubt  we could sell the rest as our concourse would not be able to deal with it. The ground is designed with safety first. We can add a couple of hundred to the concourse but not 2k.
