Really good result for us - should hopefully show Enzo that he can trust some of these peripheral players, and a boost to the mood for players and fans after a couple of disappointing results.

Yunus was my MOTM - the only one who looked lively in the first half and gave us so much drive in the second, brilliant goal and sublime pass to set up the first goal.

Happy days.

First half was probably the worst performance I've seen in years. Couldn't defend for shit and don't think we had a meaningful shot. Marcel is a massive question mark and thought Hamza just looked lazy.

Half time subs changed the game completely and a faultless second half.

Albrighton should be starting in the league, the guy is just brilliant. Give him a new contract.

Ricardo and JJ totally changed the game.

Ricardo, yes - JJ i thought offered little and got himself in trouble a few times.

Albrighton rolling back the years today. Not just his crosses and driving at defenders, but he showed some deft touches and quick feet a few times too.

Fatawu excites me but Marc deserves more game time. Sometimes his understanding with, and ability to pick out Vardy is almost telepathic

Disagree with this, he was far more aggressive than Doyle was, and defended far wider. Completely stopped their right hand side.

They control that side first half.

Second half JJ and Macteer locked it down.

JJ gives us pace and physicality.

He isn't playing as an 8 at all, he's so much closer to the cf than Praet was. And is never in our defensive 3rd. That's a 10 for me.

Nonsense, he spent most of the game picking up the ball in his own half...

  • Nelson is seriously, seriously good. He reminds me of John Stones.
  • Stolarczyk is a superb no. 2
  • I actually thought Brandon Cover looked half decent
  • Akgün takes it round players like they’re not there. I think he’s a player.
  • Choudhury had a shambolic first half but picked it up in the second
  • I don’t think Marçal contributed much
  • Justin and Ricardo changed the game

Can we have these bullet pointed, easy to read, spot on post match summaries after every game plz!

Saves me scrolling

It could be better if you have to work with Ipswich fans (including the boss) on Monday.

Sits back in chair, engages smug mode and counts the hours to 08:55 on Monday.

Well, we see what we want to see.  Doyle had far more defending to do, so it's not really a fair comparison.  But JJ, for me, still looks a bit lost on the ball, like he really doesn't know what to do with it.  He wasn't bad, neither was doyle, but i wouldn't say JJ had anywhere near the same impact as ricardo.

Trying not to think too much about the £8m we wasted on Coady lol… I know match fitness and all that but he just looks done

Nelson looks ready for this level.

Hmm, i really didn't see it.  The difference between the two halves makes the comparison pretty meaningless . after the first goal, birmingham hardly did anything on either side of the pitch.

Anyway, JJ wasn't bad but no comparison to the impact Ricardo made, that's my point.

Cover played well, but Ricardo showed what a specialist position that is, and how when done well it creates so many passing options for our centre backs. Was a tad unfair to play a youngster there in hindsight, but Cover didn't let himself down at all.
