Enzo Maresca frustration boils over as he says 'moment there's doubt about the idea, I will leave'

I'm not saying I'm not happy with our league position and results but can anyone genuinely say that most of our games our exciting? Of course, we just want to get out of this league ASAP and it's the results that matter. But there is no way we can all say that the football we play is exciting or entertaining. It can be at times when we click, pass the ball quickly and with purpose and cut teams open. We are capable of doing this but we don't do it often enough and in many games we seem laboured. It's always a worry when we are winning 1-0 and we drop off and allow the opposition back into games as we have a terrible habit of conceding sloppy late goals. Some of these have cost us, some haven't

That;s because the Championship quality is terrible so how can we expect an exciting match when  most teams just sit back.

The Prem will be a different tempo all together and I'm sure the players will react to that as any team would.

All that matters ithat we get promoted.

Why is everyone assuming that the doubt comment relates to certain fans. I assumed it relates to the club.  If they dont buy into it anymore, then he will be gone. There is nothing to suggest that is the case.

Why should we lose Enzo because certain fans don’t understand what they are watching? Sad thing is that these fans would openly welcome it, but hopefully smarter heads prevail elsewhere.

Certainly hope that’s the case, must be so frustrating for him and the team that they don’t feel the love for them.

Entitled

To reiterate, I am supportive of Enzo and not a doubter (bit of a joke I feel the need to start posts with this to avoid getting piled on though)!

But I see this term aimed a lot at those who aren’t happy. Surely being entitled is expecting to win each week. Given we are winning a lot, surely that shows that whatever their reasons are for not being happy, it’s not down to this so I think this entitlement thing is just a lazy work thrown round but it’s not that.

Whether it’s lack of understanding, lack of attention span or just different preferences, I don’t know. But I don’t think you can say it’s entitled.

I agree. Promotion is all that I'm bothered about. I'm not unhappy in the slightest, I'm just saying that I can understand why some fans can get frustrated at times. I love Enzo but I don't agree with this threatening to walk bollocks.

I think a lot of managers could have us right where we are now, yes.

Not a chance.

Who? Who was available? Allardyce? Hodgson? Old farts and has beens.

The club took a chance on Enzo, sure, but look how that has paid off.

Would you rather have Pearson back. You're an ostrich.

Would you rather we play route one football and be sitting in the play offs ?

We are top by 10 points, scored the most goals and conceded the least, what more do you want man lol

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED !

Literally not what the poster said

Sorry these kind of comments are just as annoying and pathetic as the people who do come out with negative shit all the time!

People still talking as if we're a small club with nothing.

I would imagine a lot of decent managers would like to manage us.

Weird comparison. I prefered the 4-1 win against Spurs, or do I have to compare with only the Newcastle game?

It isn't a weird comparison because that's our level, we aren't going to beat spurs by 4 goals even with Pep in charge of us.

Enzos getting the best out of our players, if we get promoted it's going to be tough, and moaning isn't going to help

Again, as you did in your first reply, you've taken my comments completely out of context. I said, it was crap that we dropped tempo for most of the first half. We weren't 3-1 up at ht. The result was good. The league standing and points tally is amazing. The quality of the football for long periods of games isn't. That's my point.

So what exactly do you want?

How we are doing but with a bit more urgency at key moments and a bit more hunger in taking our chances lol

But according to you, the poster you quoted and probably others want us to be in the play offs playing hoofball which is literally not what has been said anywhere on this thread….

Our fan base is rotten seriously!

I said the quality of the football for long periods of games isn't good enough. Not the quality of the football in general. When we are good and it clicks, we can be a joy to watch and can destroy teams. We started yesterday like this for 15 minutes and then from minute 15 to minute 40 it was awful and we allowed them back into the game. I'm not expecting us to play amazing, flowing football for 90 minutes every game, but why do we just drop tempo for such long periods? We had Swansea on the ropes and then we just dropped off and allowed them back in. They are an absolutely appalling team and the 3-1 result in the end was fine but things could be so different if we continue to drop tempo so drastically when we are 1-0 up.

I’m not saying I want him gone and replaced immediately. I think he’s done brilliantly since taking charge. I just want to see a different approach tactically during matches.

So you want him replaced, just not immediately? And you want something different to what’s put us in this position. Words fail me.

For us to not drastically drop the tempo like we did from minute 15 to minute 40 yesterday. Swansea are one of the worst teams in the league so it didn't matter, but any teams slightly better could have taken advantage of us allowing them back in yesterday and all of a sudden the game looks different. Enzo himself even admitted that we weren't good for large parts of the first half yesterday. Like I said, it didn't matter in the end but against better teams it could matter.

I know mate it's frustrating isn't it. I get we all have different views and opinions but some on here won't even acknowledge others viewpoints as they always have to be right.

You can't expect us to the play the perfect game every game just because we are in the Championship, that's what you're expecting.

A bit more urgency how can we be urgent when most teams park the bus and every team misses chances its part of the game, pathetic.

No, it isn't @jayfox26, or @Matt, or @The Year Of The Fox  that anyone has a real issue with - all make perfectly valid points in essence, none of them is remotely moronic.

It's the people who just like to moan for the sake of it, who cannot ever be pleased, who always know best - they're the issue at hand.

He’s all about complete possession football.  It is naturally a slower build and methodical. That’s just his style.

We’re 10 points clear going into Feb.

If Daka scored last night and KDH got his other chance, and even Mavididi’s long range effort went in, I still don’t think that would be enough for the miserable part of this fanbase.

People need to calm TF down.

Surely winning nearly every game is 'quality football'. How can you not enjoy winning football?

Because apparently some folks value aesthetics over functionality when it comes to football.

I don't agree, but I guess it all comes down to opinion.

What do people expect when every team we meet sit with 11 men behind the ball for 90 minutes? It’s clearly the other teams making games boring, not Enzo.

This is true. Maybe a good thing for if/when we go up. If teams come at us more we will see a mixture of styles. I do think a couple of our best performances happened to be Southampton and Blackburn away when we didn’t have the opposition killing the games.

Obviously we have scored many and won plenty of games as well where teams have by superior ability and wearing them down.
