Soumaré - Sevilla currently - They have no cash

The other thing to note with all transfers, is that they’re often structured with trigger points.

So we might have paid £20m for Soumare upfront. If we did that, we’d still have him on the books at £15m.

Monaco might have offered £5m up front, with £12m in trigger points add ons for all we know.

Selling him would have had a massive impact on PSR in that instance.

All Premier League clubs will struggle to sell players if transfer fees and wages don’t come in line with other leagues under these financial doping rules, as the league is crippling itself.

Not so sure that's correct. It's nothing to do with cash and installments for PSR. It's structured fee and then add ons. So if we'd agreed to sell Soumare for £17m but it was £5m up front and then installments of £3m a year for 4 years it would still go down as a £17m sale in the year in which the sale took place.

If we agreed to sell him for £5m + £12m in potential add ons then your point applies.

Sorry, yes, I was more on about if we sold him as per your last point.

By the looks of it, Monaco are back in for him.

AS Monaco view Leicester's Boubakary Soumaré as potential Youssouf Fofana replacement - Get French Football News

AS Monaco have seen their midfield options dwindle this summer. Youssouf Fofana was always expected to depart, especially given that he had just one year remaining on his deal with Les Monégasques. However, they have lost other players too. Mohamed Camara has moved to Qatar, whilst academy product Félix Lemarechal has joined Ligue 1 rivals RC Strasbourg Alsace.

The Principality club have even had to contend with interest from Premier League clubs in their new captain Denis Zakaria. Even despite the arrival of Lamine Camara for FC Metz, there is still a need to strengthen the midfield. Monaco have a long-standing interest in Leciester City’s Boubakary Soumaré (25) and it could now be reignited, according to a report from L’Équipe

Adi Hütter wants a midfielder that has already established himself, and Soumaré, who has experience both in Ligue 1 and in the Premier League falls into that category. He is therefore an option being considered with just over one week remaining in the transfer window.

Club Face Issues With Leicester City Star’s Agent In Possible Swoop

Italian giants Napoli have encountered issues with Leicester City star Boubakary Soumare’s agent in their chase for the midfielder.

Antonio Conte has been looking for a midfielder this summer and his side have been strongly linked with Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

They are yet to reach an agreement with the Red Devils for the Scot and have set their eyes on another Premier League midfielder.

Newly promoted Leicester City’s Soumare is a player Conte likes and the club are considering the Foxes man as a possible option.

However, according to Italian outlet Arena Napoli, the Serie A giants have faced problems with Soumare’s agent.

The Foxes are open to letting the midfielder go and they want to loan Soumare out with an obligation to buy for €14m at the end of the loan.

There appear to be some complications with the player’s agent though.

Napoli and the player’s agent and entourage have complicated relations.

The Leicester midfielder had been strongly linked with Roma earlier this summer and it remains to be seen if Soumare’s camp and Napoli will be able to reach an agreement late in the transfer window.

Boubakary Soumaré’s entourage pushing for AS Monaco move

Having seen their midfield options depleted this summer with the departures of Youssouf Fofana, Mohamed Camara and Félix Lemarechal, AS Monaco are open to recruiting another midfielder before the closure of the transfer window in just five days.

Lamine Camara has arrived to bolster Monaco’s midfield and he has impressed in the opening two games, despite his late red card in a 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais last weekend. However, another element may yet be added, with Adi Hütter reportedly keen to add some more experience in this sector of the pitch.

As a result, the Principality club could reignite their interest in Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré (25), as reported by L’Équipe.

A new report from the publication reveals that the midfielder’s entourage are even pushing for a move to Les Monégasques, even if Soumaré’s wage could pose a problem. Monaco, who are also exploring other options simultaneously, are yet to make the first move.

This guy is just a bit pointless at this stage isn’t he doesn’t really want to be here and not really good enough to not want to be here and play anyway. Hopefully can get him gone before Friday for good for his own sake as well as ours

Yes please.

When he came into the team under Dean Smith you could see a decent player in there. But he always seems so miserable and lethargic, can't imagine he's good for team spirit.

Hopefully we can shift him permanently but I'd rather he went somewhere on loan if that's all we can do.

No ones going to buy this donkey. Its going to be a loan every season until his contract runs out, then he'll walk away for free, signing a nice big signing on fee somewhere, whilst we're out of pocket again.

He'll be missed. He's a great talent, but if he wants to go, £15m is a fair fee. It'll be our loss, but if Monaco want him, I think we should let him go......

Won't be a permanent deal just yet another loan to a club with no intention of buying him.. He really needs to go for his own sake. His career is going nowhere here he's just wasting the best part of his career. His agent should be working harder to get this done.

Defo won't go Napoli - they prefer McTominay and Gilmour
