FA Cup: Chelsea (A) Match-Thread

Recommended Posts

It’s tactical suicide to play this high of a line, with huge gaps in between each defender and no protection in front of it.

Add to that a half arsed press and two of the back four being painfully slow and you have yourself a recipe for disaster.

We all knew the defence would need a major overhaul if we got promoted anyway. It was what got us relegated last year and is now set up to try and break weaker teams down rather than keep better teams than us out.

Some decent play but for the most part the final ball hasn’t been good enough. Can see us scoring but no way are we not conceding more.

I think we need to try a different system here. I’d like to see us try a more traditional 4-4-3 with full backs making space for the wingers to come inside. I’d say Ndidi, KDH and Winks are capable of totally controlling this game.

4-4-3 ???

Hamza is such a massive downgrade from Ricardo, lacks vision, everything is laboured in possession sideways and backwards rarely tries anything incisive and he just doesn’t have the football intelligence he is so often caught out on the blindside.

We have actually looked bright in possession but decision making in the final 3rd has been poor.

Next goal is critical if we can make it 2-1 then it could get tense and nervy for Chelsea.

Shocking defending.

It'll be 5/6-0 if we keep defending like this.

Enzos decision to start 3 slow players at the back has killed us here.

That's because he's not a very good manager. He doesn't know how to mange his squad well to have a tactical advantage.

Leeds gave them a really good game, we look like we are miles and miles off them, could easily be 4-0 down. Anyone who isn’t worried now about the rest of this season should be.

We don't look miles off them we have had chances as well

Hamza didn't look over his shoulder once for the first goal.

We're just woeful

Was just going to put that as well, he’s just running back ball watching

****ing hell some people overreact we are playing decently against a billion pound squad.

Some people need to screw there heads back on

A billion pound squad that have been underwhelming this season.

The future of Poch has been mooted on/off for months.

I’ve stayed away from FT the last few days but the negativity on here is a fair assessment on our awful form/same insane mistakes….we’re so easy to play against right now, so open.

Faes vestergard Doyle getting shown up for being the snail 🐌 paced defenders they are

This is increasingly a massive problem for us. All decent ball players but so susceptible to any pacy attacks

The inverted full back is not working here.

With Ricci injured, Hamza looks exposed and defensively Justin would have been the better option - but neither Justin/Doyle play as the invert so Enzo would have had to change

We are really missing Riccardo at the moment. Doyle is doing ok on the left but has got exposed there too. Nowhere for the first goal. Maybe Justin’s pace on the right might help if we went to a flat back four but we havent done that much this season. Exposed at the back and not clinical in front of goal. Overall though we haven’t done that bad just need more composure in the critical moments as we have seen in recent games. If we get one goal early on this could still be turned around.
