Its the first time since the start of October Ndidi, RIcardo and Dolye have all started together. Yes, and i would expect he doesn't have a striker he considers his strongest. It teams sit deep he's probably less inclined to want to start Vardy and would sooner use younger legs to drag defenders around and use Vardy as an impact sub. Good point about this lineup not starting since October though. Monday we looked the best we have for months.

Weller Wing Posted 4 April Share Posted 4 April Looking back a few weeks when Leeds drew at Huddersfield in the lunchtime kick off and we managed to muck things up v QPR. The fixtures look like they could work in our favour but you know this league and it IS Leicester City

We have: Vardy - one of the greatest finishers ever, and who will give everything but who simply doesn't have as much to give as he used to. Iheanacho - capable of moments of genius, and a good finisher, but very inconsistent and not someone you can rely on to put in a shift both pressing and dropping back to link up. Daka - someone you can rely on to put in a shift both pressing and dropping back to link up, but who you can't rely on to put away a chance. Cannon - unproven, looks like he can finish, and works hard, but doesn't appear to have the nous of Vardy or Daka's speed or quickness of thought. I think Maresca's probably right to have concluded that Daka and Vardy are the best two we have.

Look at the pelters Vardy took after the Bristol game, only to become our best striker one game later.

Popular Post moore_94 Posted 5 April Popular Post Share Posted 5 April (edited) Enzo Maresca Pre-Match Press Conference vs Birmingham Maresca on injuries to McAteer, Nelson, Cannon, and Souttar “It’s just Kasey who is out and Harry Souttar who came back from international duty with a small injury. Tom and Ben are fine. Kasey, he is much better, but I don’t know when he’s back.” Maresca on the £90m loss and managing how the squad deal with it “After the Premier League charge, the EFL, the accounts, hopefully it’s finished! I said already many times. We cannot control that. The lawyers are in charge. We can just focus on our games. “I try to convince myself and convince the players that the only thing we can worry about is the games. Even if it’s something that is there, it’s not something we can control. “Until today, they showed in the games that they are just focused on the games.” Maresca on goals from high turnovers as City look to press aggressively “It’s something I said many times, that we try to press the opposition every time. The good thing is that when you recover the ball, you are very close to the goal, and because we bring so many players, we have many players ready in the attack. We work on being aggressive. I said after Norwich, that out defenders defend with 50 metres in behind, so we have to be brave and quick. We try to manage this. Everybody is talking about Wilf. Wilf is helping us off the ball because he is defending very close to the goal. Off the ball he’s a big weapon for us. He helps us to recover the ball higher.” Assessing Birmingham with Rowett in charge for only two games “They just changed manager. The manager who is now in charge is different. Stansfield, James, they are all attacking players who are good players. With the new manager, they have played two games. QPR away with a line of five. Preston at home with a line of four. Are they going to play with line of five or line of four? It’s complicated. We don’t know what they are going to do. We’ll just try to be ready and prepare both.” Maresca on synergy between fans and players compared to start of season “At the start, the synergy between the players and the fans was not the best. Now after seven or eight months, it’s much better. I can understand about the frustration with recent results. Now it’s important to have them behind us. It can be a big boost and a big push for us." Get KDH, Abdul and Mavadidi flying at the defence. If Vestagard starts playing walking football slower than my Nan, I hope the fans give him a gentle reminder like last game. The cheers for Abdul really lifted the energy, that would be good for Mavadidi if he drops his head.

Just hope we can go on and take that winning run to the finish line. Hope you are right. But, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, we haven't won on a match day where Leeds or Ipswich have dropped any points, let alone lost, since 10 February! And more astonishingly, we haven't won on a match day where both Leeds and Ipswich have failed to win for over 3 months or, in other words, 16 game days! I think that's just good sound logic to be fair haha. We should absolutely win, it'd be criminal if we didn't. The other 2 are probably a coin flip - a three sided coin flip. Md9 Posted 5 April Share Posted 5 April Don’t really think norwich will get anything against Ipswich tomorrow but maybe cov could get a draw. Would love them both to lose but after last weeks 90 odd min winner and late pen just don’t see them slowing down this week.
