Football Kits 2024-25

My problem is we dont include the colours of the flag. They seem to want to cut red part of st georges flag out. Even the away strips are blue or navy... Umbro got right in the mid 00s plenty of colour. For me kits have been the fa colours rather than the nation colours.

You won the world cup in a home kit that was a plain white shirt emblazoned with the three lions, navy shorts and white socks. That's your traditional home colours? It didn't have a St George's cross or the colour red anywhere on it, except maybe some tiny detailing on the badge if you want to be pedantic.

The vast majority of international football teams play with the badge of the association on the shirt, not the national flag. In fact if anyone was waving flags back when you won the world cup they were probably waving the Union Jack, given that widespread use of St George's flag at English sporting events is a pretty new phenomenon from about the turn of the millennium.

19/20 home is our only good kit for about a quarter of a century. It makes me very cross how ugly we are as a football club, and I can’t see it changing anytime soon because the weirdos buy all of our crap kits without question

If you only mean home kits, I think 16/17 was okay. The last one I really liked before that would be 2000/02 though. 2006/07 was alright as well but very mid 2000s.

We've fared a lot better with away/third kits, 15/16 third I liked and the away was decent enough, 16/17 third (white with blue pinstripes) can't be beaten, 18/19 away and third were fairly good, 20/21 away and third as well but that may be liking them more purely because of the FA Cup win. 2000/02 and 02/03 away were pretty good too.

The three 17/18 kits would've been really good without the tacky polka dot pattern Puma put on the sleeves (luckily they ended up coming off really easily in the wash 😂)

Wow in a world where you can be anything, be kind. That’s all I can say on this very harsh and tasteless attack
