Relegation is by a distance the most likely outcome as things stand. Sneaky feeling we will avoid it despite a points deduction, which is likely to be at least what Everton got, probably more. Maybe about 8 points? That guesstimate has as much methodology behind it as the PL points deduction decisions to date.

Vestergaard to beat 3 defenders just outside the penalty box to thunder a shot in the top right corner in the 90 min of the final match, ensuring we only lose 5-1 and secure 17th place on goal difference as news comes in of Spurs losing to Ipswich, consigning them to 18th.

Bite your hand off for 17th right now. To be honest the appalling way we're being run behind-the-scenes has Cooper on a hiding to nothing, so all I really hope for is to be entertained more this season than I have been since we were first subjected to possession-for-the-sake-of-it footy, from Puel through to Enzo. We've had seven years of it now, and with a few rare outliers the only times we've genuinely torn teams apart has been when we abanadoned the stupid philosophy and played a more direct or counter-attacking game, often against the wishes of the manager at the time.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we're going to see some more entertaining football at least, but won't be angry if we don't stay up this time around. Any delusions of us being a "top six club" should have been blasted out of peoples' skulls by now, we've blown any legacy the title win / FA Cup triumph should have propelled us toward, through appalling mismanagement on and off the pitch since 2021.

I think we're down. Zero inspirational signings and the premier League will make an example of us in terms of points deductions.

Best hope is that a marquee player like Fatawu will have a stormer and get bought for £70m + so we can reinvest wisely.

Love LCFC with a passion, we all do, but enjoy the season also. Fir me Enzo, kompany and Forest will be interesting to watch, Liverpool after Klopp etc 😀

If we don’t get quality in soon it’s relegation for me and I’m usually wildly optimistic.

I was very confident, even after Cooper came in, but the loss of KDH and no quality in the door at all leaves us poorly equipped.

We need something to get all the fans onside early, an ambitious signing, a big early result in the season, just something positive to provide belief.

Otherwise I fear it will go flat very quickly this season and that will just rub off on the players. Honeymoon period in the prem is very quick.

My opinion has moved from “maybe scrape by avoiding relegation with a points deduction” to “20th, even without a points deduction” over the last month. We are weaker than we were last season and appear to be showing no ambition whatsoever, even to prepare ourselves for next season in the championship under a transfer embargo, which we now need to do very urgently. We don’t appear to be preparing ourselves for anything other than the next friendly defeat behind a ridiculous paywall.

For a club like us with the clear talent deficit we have (with little sign of that changing anytime soon), we would need a tactical genius as a manager to get us to the dizzy heights of 17th.

However good or bad Cooper is, he is no tactical genius.

We are up creek de merde sans le paddle.

Imao he will do well to get us to 19th.

Personally I've given up hope of anything good with our club and its useless board atm. 😒
