That's where I was!

It's now just been announced next week is all ticket. Not surprised

Yep, just seen that.

I think they might crack 4k for that one. Unbelievable growth considering I remember watching them lose 3-1 to Guiseley at York Street a few years back in front of about 900 people.

Which team was this?

Jersey with an away win means a home win on the final day woulkd be enough, surely not even jersey can mess it up now?

Well well WELL. It appears you are right. On the eve of the final day, having just sold out of tickets and hospitality, the bulls have announced they have been docked 3 points for fielding an ineligible player during a match on 20 march. Apparently they’ve known about this since Tuesday but ofc didn’t let on until tomorrow sold out. Dirty, grubby money grabbing move

LOL that's perfect, just when they were on the verge they've blown it...again.

I agree it’s very funny but it’s a proper sly move. Ofc islanders are too naive so they’re all ‘woooo let’s get behind the team anyway!!’ But to market yourselves as some community first amazing hub, and then blatantly grab money like this, is poor imo. Won’t have any consequences for them because of said naive locals.

Took the plunge into Non-League after years of threatening today, watching Marine AFC take on Warrington Town in a local derby. Warrington are already down but Marine have pulled off a great escape of sorts after being mired in the drop zone for the first half of the season. They'll play at National League North level again next season - while it'll be at least a year before this fixture happens again, they've still got Southport for a bit of local spice next season, plus Chester if they don't win the playoffs.

As for the match itself, proper. Everyone is friendly, you're right up to the pitch and can chat with the players after the game. The whole "pints in view of the pitch" thing has been taken to a new level here - half the crowd had 2-pint mega cups to last them a half. Myself, I wasn't too bothered queuing for one mid-game considering the bar is right there on the terraces and arguably one of the best views on offer.

Marine are planning a move to a purpose-built 5,000 seater ground over in Thornton, and you can see why - ever since their FA Cup clash against Spurs things have skyrocketed for them, with an average gate of well over 1,000 now, up from about 200 before then. Official gates are tricky to come by at this level, but there were probably around 1300 - 1500 in today. The money has largely been invested in a plastic pitch which they rent out to the community, and is a major revenue earner to keep things sustainable, but like most old-school grounds they've reached their limit for expansion and need to look elsewhere if they want to continue growing their gate.

Plenty here come down when their "main teams" aren't playing, but make no mistake, there's a proper passionate fanbase here. Given this is now on my doorstep I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with the clown show at the KP if there are fixture clashes next season.

Superb write up of your experience, it looks like a great day out.

I ditched the clown show too and support my new local team since 2020,

I’m aiming to be at Leamington away on Monday but I can’t make the last game of the season so I’m not happy or impressed that my Mum organised a family event for that day!

I’ve moaned and whined for weeks but it’s not got me any further with getting out of the event.

My brother in law (and his family) came down a few weeks back and watched Brackley v Buxton with us.  He hadn’t been to any game since visiting Man Utd in 2017 and since then he has been to two Radcliffe games in NL North. He’s got the bug back too.

Keep those reports coming as it’s great to read them.

And it was almost AFC Whyteleafe as champions, who started the day 3rd.  But Redhill score at the death to deny them the title.

Could've been some season for AFC Whyteleafe who have made the final of The F.A Vase.  Still could go up through the playoffs.

Here's the goal....and the goal scorer.

Went Lincoln United yesterday - had to play 5th place Heanor and could have won the title (UCL North) but its a three way chase for title. Nearly 700. Really novel place for a ground - off the back of 1960s council estate and then there was this beautiful cricket pitch/club house with a football ground next to it.

Won 3-1 but they were very nervous at 60 mins when level. Thought they'd thrown it away. In the end it was Eastwood and Bourne hanging on elsewhere to make sure it went to the last day.

Hilarious Lincoln can win the title at Skegness tomorrow....what a brilliant place to win the title at!

Going to watch Lowestoft Town take on Leiston tomorrow.

-103 GD for Lowestoft and counting… really tough to see how Lowestoft want to progress in the years to come, they’ve fielded a lot of young players through a partnership with the local college which in theory was a neat idea but they haven’t half struggled with the step up.

League title celebrations at the Boro v Smethwick Rangers clash, perfect match for the occasion. Boro were 0-2 down at half time, came back to win 3-2 with the winner in the 96th minute! 717 in attendance... meh... even though that's amazing for this level but thought many more would have attended. I guess the last two performances impacted on the attendance, more attended the previous fixture against Leicester St Andrews. Still one game to go in the midland floodlight league cup final.

Quorn 2 - 0 RC Warwick

A pre-match spat on Twitter between Home Secretary and Away Manager livened up the proceedings a little but the game didn’t quite live up to the hype. Warwick rattling the bar twice but eventually succumbed to an absolute Rocket from Captain Rico and Jordan Clarke grabbing the 2nd minutes from time. 21st clean sheet of the season is absolutely ridiculous at Step 4 with a budget similar to that of Step 6 Clubs.

Onto tomorrow and a local derby up the Butthole

Leamington 0 Brackley 2. Att 1108. Very assured performance by Brackley. Only issue was that Kiddy and Scunny were even better in their games. So it rolls over to next week with the heavy expectation Kiddy win it at Southport

Spalding batter Stamford 5-0, so as a result of Harborough beating Barwell 1-0, they move into the last play-off place. They have Sudbury away on the last day, who secured safety this afternoon.

Looks like Bedford will win the league, so if it stays the same it'll be a Kettering vs Harb semi-final.

A single goal keeps Barwell in the drop zone, the bad news for them being that Redditch are playing already relegated Hitchin on the last day.

Ashby beat Gresley, which meant that if Kimberley won and sleaford got a point Gresley would be relegated.

Kimberley won, sleaford were 2-0 up.....ended up losing 3-2 and were relegated, saving Gresley.

Crazy to see Gresleys fall from grace, back in the 90's it was only their ground that stopped them winning promotion to the Football conference (national league) which was step 1, if they had been relegated today they would've played at step 6.

Boston lose out to a 97th minute winner at Solihull today. Still 4 points clear of relegation with two to go, but could do with another win to seal safety.

Gateshead at home on Saturday, which is already all-ticket, and a final game at struggling Maidenhead.
