didn't think he had that kind of goal in him. Looked like a winger there.

Scored that goal vs QPR so he deffo does have that in him. It was him anyway, confirmed by the club a bit later on and his face to the camera.

Sure it sounds like Vardy shouting ‘oh winkle’ as it goes in.

I was more surprised by the way he made space for the shot than the shot itself. It looked like something Mavididi or Fatawu would do, not our holding midfielder.

Only training of course! Don't imagine he'll be anywhere near the opposing goal this season ha!

Formation clues, missing player, teenager call-up – what we spotted in Leicester City training
Leicester City have been training on the banks of Lake Geneva since Monday in their second week of work under new manager Steve Cooper, with pre-season matches coming soon

Leicester City have been away in France this week, ramping up their preparations for the new Premier League season.

Being together in Evian-les-Bains gives new manager Steve Cooper more time to put in place his plans for the upcoming campaign, and allows the summer recruits to bed into the squad. For onlookers, it means there’s more to analyse.

Here, we’ve noted down a few things we’ve spotted from the pictures and videos to emerge from City's training camp before we get a proper look at Cooper’s side at Shrewsbury next Tuesday.

City set up in back four in training exercise

One of the big unknowns at the moment is whether City will start the season in a back four or back five. Cooper used both at Nottingham Forest, but did seem to lean towards a back five, deploying wing-backs to great effect, particularly in their promotion out of the Championship.

But a few pictures from Evian showed an attack versus defence exercise where City looked to line up in a back four. On one side it was, from right to left, Ricardo Pereira, Harry Souttar, Conor Coady and Luke Thomas, and with Hamza Choudhury as a defensive midfielder in front of them. At the other end of the pitch, the back four was Brandon Cover, Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli and James Justin, with Harry Winks sitting.

It looked like City were attacking as a group of five, much in the same way they did last season under Enzo Maresca. So there were two wingers, two attacking midfielders and one striker.

This could have been a warm-up exercise and not indicative of any plans Cooper has. But equally, it wouldn’t be a surprise if City had started training in either the defensive or attacking shape they plan to take into the season. More will be revealed at Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

Cooper just wants to tweak

And certainly there are early signs that City may well play in a similar set-up and in a similar style to how they did last term. Ricardo is now the second player, after Conor Coady, to say Cooper only wants to make tweaks here and there, rather than sweeping changes.

The full-back told the club: “(Cooper) wants to build relationships with everyone, a nice connection between all of us. Of course we will do some things that will be different from last season but some things will stick and we’ll just change some bits here and there.”

No Stolarczyk with under-18s goalkeeper in

There’s no sign yet of the five players who competed at the European Championship or at Copa America – Mads Hermansen, Jannik Vestergaard, Wout Faes, Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid – as they’re still on holiday. But everyone else who was expected to be there is there, apart from one.

At least, it does not appear that goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has travelled. He’s not featured in any of the footage to have so far been released from the camp.

But there are still four goalkeepers there, with Danny Ward, Daniel Iversen and Brad Young joined by 19-year-old Stevie Bausor. He was with City’s under-18s last season, starting 10 of their 24 league games, and will be stepping up to the under-21s this year.

Okoli’s new number possibly revealed

Confirming the permanent arrival of Abdul Fatawu this week, City announced that he would be wearing the no 7 in the new campaign, trading in his no 18 for the shirt worn by Cesare Casadei last season. And it seems he’s not the only one who’s been handed a number in the starting 11.

New signing Caleb Okoli has been sporting no 5 on his shorts in training. It would make sense if that is to be the number he takes as it’s free following Callum Doyle’s return to Manchester City, while it’s also the number he wore at both Atalanta and Frosinone.

Squad numbers are not the be all and end all these days, but it does give the impression Okoli is coming in to play a prominent role amid fierce competition in the centre of the defence. There's currently six senior centre-backs at the club, and depending on the formation, potentially only two starting spots.

I assume we are not getting any live streams for this preseason

Leicester will now return to the UK and they are due in Shrewsbury on Tuesday for an open pre-season friendly against the Sky Bet League 1 Shrews.

That fixture at The Croud Meadow is a 7:45pm BST kick-off and you’ll find updates from Shropshire across @LCFC social channels on the evening.

Once that task is completed, the Foxes will tackle Palermo in Chesterfield (Friday 26 July), before travelling to Augsburg (3 August) and Lens (10 August).

It's time some of the local media took the club to task on this. I presumed some of the cut back in coverage and comms was because we got relegated but we're a PL team again now.

Did someone get banned for asking questions the club didn’t like
