Ric Flair Posted 27 May Share Posted 27 May It seems logical to me that the new manager comes without the requirement of compensation but Carlos Corberan would be a sensible choice. Plenty to like about him but he also comes with a few question marks (most managers will) Johnny Heitinga ticks all the boxes of: • cheap • wasserman client • possession football • track record of developing young talent

The mess he walked into at Ajax and the stabilising job he did was superb.

Might be a dumb question (sure it is, but I like in hope) but can compensation for a manager be liable to amortisation?

Not quite the same, but I think we’ll be the favourites to go down come the start of the season. A new manager in for a favourite to go down?

But after delving into what he produced at Ajax, actually appointing him would make a lot of sense. If we want a smooth transition, with a manager who plays similarly to what we’ve had with Maresca, Heitinga could actually be that guy. He often used inverted full backs or inverted a centre back to move into midfield, exactly like Maresca experimented with against Blackburn with using Choudhury. Also plays a 4-3-3 formation, with two 8’s that basically push up as two 10’s. But if it isn’t to be Heitinga, first and foremost our new manager must be someone who plays with wingers, or you might as well kiss goodbye to signing Fatawu on a permanent.
cityfanlee23 Posted 27 May Share Posted 27 May (edited) Give Moyes that foundation and he keeps us up IMO. Players I'd look at that could be cheap/free/loan if it was my football manager save. RB Coufal (Free) RB Ben Johnson (Free) If we didn't go for Coufal CB Maxence Lacroix (£20-25m) CB Soyuncu (Loan) CB Clement Lenglet (Loan) CAM Giovanni Reyna (Loan) CAM De Ketelaere (Loan) CAM Oliver Gloukh (Priority) (£20m) CAM Fabio Carvalho (Loan) CM Nicolo Rovella (Loan) LW/RW Ryan Sessegnon (free) Edited 27 May by cityfanlee23

Little bit early for McKenna to United, so it makes sense. I imagine Potter is going back to Brighton too. Just us then with no date for the Prom!
