Oscar Garcia??

Was saying this when it looked like Enzo ****ed it up in February. The only reason he’s at OHL is because of his Wasserman connections. Smacks of a big Jon special.

Corberan will not be cheap to get here.

I highly doubt we can afford to go poaching any half decent names from clubs.

A number 2 or backroom coach from somewhere or out of work manager is probably more realistic in the position we find ourselves in.

I'd be surprised if the compensation package required to get him out of West Brom will be anywhere near what we will be receiving for Maresca leaving. If we can buy him out of his contract for say £4million, then we still end up £4 million in the black.

Also sacked by Hull having missed out on the play-offs with a better team than both Norwich and West Brom. No thank you.

For me he’s the clear man for the job, all his pro’s are we are in need of for our first season back.

there’s a misconception that he plays defensive football, which isn’t true. Admittedly, against the top boys he has to sit back a bit and play counter attacking football and takes away the top boys major strengths.

Even Enzo said after we played them that they should have won.

I wouldn’t categorise him as defensive either, it’s more he’s good at setting up a defence. Ranieri’s team might not have had much possession but I wouldn’t call them defensive. Corberan was Bielsa’s number 2 but to his credit he adapted his style to maximise his resources at other clubs.

Cuesta the Arsenal number 2 is the manager with the highest ceiling but Corberan is the sensible choice. I also have a feeling that the fans might appreciate his style more than Enzo as I don’t think he’s as stubborn.

Any appointment is a risk but as per my previous post I think he’s a good pick. Potter would also be good though IMO his achievements in English football aren’t as good as Corberan.

I understand why people want Moyes but our team isn’t setup for his style at all. No unit of a striker, no set piece specialist, keeper isn’t the right type, etc.

I feel like we are so short of money right now that we will go for someone who is out of work and that drastically narrows the field down quite  a bit…

If we're getting £8-10million for Maresca, then I think we can chance our arm with trying to attract a manager currently in work. If we were to drop £4-5 million at West Brom's feet for Corberan, would they turn it down? That's a lot of money for a championship club no longer receiving parachute payments, especially if we manage to turn his head.

Or that goes towards a potential signing. Can make a case for either tbf

Yeah we are loaded...so lets go and soend what we want, let's get whoever for whatever and dish out huge contracts and transfer fees while we are at it.

If you don't think we are watching every penny right now then you have simply been in a coma for a while.

just to clarify, if this deal is getting done as part of the season just gone, then yes we are ‘ short of money’.

Moyes is a weird one. On the face of it the football is what you'd refer to as pragmatic, yet there has been glimpses during his time at West Ham where they've been incredibly exciting to watch and rather expansive. The season when they had a front 4 of Antonio, Bowen, Benrahma/Lanzini, and Lingaard, they played some wonderful football.

To also win a European competition was a great achievement for a club of West Ham's size and stature.

It'd clearly be a deviation from the plan we've followed in recent times but I don't think he'd be a disaster.
