Election prediction time

Two observations:

- considering the polls earlier giving Labour a majority of 220-250 (sometimes even more), this exit poll having Starmer not eclipse Blair is interesting

- Reform getting 13 seats is either a sign of things to come, or an oncoming storm (part of a much larger one, come to that) that may be avoided in five years time.

SNP wipeout has really surprised me

They've had pretty much 5 years of bad press that's only been topped by the Conservatives to be fair

If 131 seats for the Tories is right it will be their worst result since they were formed in 1834.

People here suggesting that it’s a good result for them 😂

I think Sunak gets the boot and the party move further to right to hoover back up the voters/members that have moved over to Reform. Shadow cabinet made up of the far right leaners like Braverman.

You're not voting for Starmer. This isn't the US presidential election.

in effect you are, because you're gonna make him prime minister. I can see the argument for voting for decent candidates even if the party leader is shit, it's why I'd hold my nose and vote labour if I was in Coventry South or Edinburgh South West, or Tories if I was in Canterbury, but fact of the matter is a vote for Labour is ultimately a vote to give Starmer a majority

I'd say their bad press has been worse.

Reform look like getting 13 seats which is a bigger share of the vote (not sure how that works?) than the Lib Dems

Well, it's better than it might have been.

In football terms it's 6-0 defeat as opposed.to 10-0.

Discussion around whether people have really voted for Labour or voted against the Tories.

That’ll come out more as we go along
