Election prediction time

Watching a really emotional interview with Jess Phillips on CH4, who kept her seat with a vastly reduced majority. She's taken relentless abuse from many of her constituents because of the war in Gaza because of the Labour leaderships stance on it is absolutely horrific and disgusting even though she doesn't agree with it. The misogyny towards female mps is an utter disgrace.

Why were there 2 ex Labour MPs going as candidates ?

Could they have not supported the Labour one and got them enough votes

Keith vaz and Claudia webbe both had " issues" with Labour hence went independent!!

Lovely to wake up to a Labour NW Leics!

Leicester, what a let down but no surprises. Shame for Jon Ashworth. People voting for an independent because of Gaza. Not sure what that will actually achieve.

Forgot about Ben Bradley. Delighted to see him lose Mansfield.

More time for his to campaign for International Men's Day - a day which already existed when he launched his campaign - now.

labour losing Dewsbury & Batley, Blackburn, Leicester South to independents, nearly losing Ilford, Starmers majority being cut in half, vote shares down something like 7% among muslims. FPTP means they won't care because they've won at a canter, but they are taking a pretty big kicking from previously their core support over Gaza, pretty much only winning because tories and SNP have shit the bed. doesn't bode well for 2029 if they don't try to be genuinely transformative

Leicester East is really interesting.....always been Labor for as long as i can remember....Is it the labor candidate being not very good, the conservative being good or the rest being crap?

This has gone as predicted.

However the turnover and split votes indicate just how much the a conservatives have self imploded. This is the lowest share of the vote they’ll ever have.

Starmer actually has less votes than Corbyn got.

The conservatives now have 5 years to rebuild and convince people like myself that we should vote for them again.

Maybe time to give him a chance to do that now then, eh...

Delighted for Jess Phillips too. Bloody awful treatment she gets. Resigned from the labour front bench over the Gaza issue and still got abused by the free Palestine lot.

So many great stories from last night.

Biggest disappointment is Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon don't get the wrap for their parties respective collapse they massively contributed to.
