This a rhetorical question?

Just such an obvious open goal - and Starmer’s first comment on the matter drills the ball home. It beggars belief that someone who is able to earn millions in his previous job can make such abysmal decisions in this one.

£38,700 Minimum wage in order to gain a work visa.

These are not the migrants Jon was referring to.

I agree with the general tenant of your post, but that gave the impression you were conflating economic migrants over which government has full control with Asylum seekers where government have limited control. I know you are aware of the difference but conflating (even if only an impression given) does no favours to your argument.

Rotten to the core

That much is obvious, and has been for basically the entirety of the last government.

Firstly, it's amazing they even had a campaign director in the first place, but what is remarkable is just how thick these people must be. Sunak must've surrounded himself with some of the egregiously thickest cvnts out there.

No wonder Ianucci gave up. This version of the Tories has gone far, far beyond the wildest imaginations of satirists.

I do think the polls are an exaggeration. Labour will of course win comfortably; however I doubt by as much as the polls say.  Labour voters will stay at home as they think it is in the bag, and a lot of people are saying they won't vote conservative beasue why admit to it and get a load of shit.  When it comes down to it the worry of a long-term Labour Government will push them to vote Tory.

I find it incredible that people will look at the absolute state of the country: the nosedive in living standards, the crippling of public services, the economic misrule, the exhausting, constant drama and scandal, and the sheer degradation of our politics and go "yeah, let's have a bit more of that"

Call me a dribbling socialist cuck, but I genuinely just can't get my head around it, Jon.

No I was thinking more of people coming in on temporary work visas for agriculture and the like.

But yes Jon, sure employers should prioritise a white nonce over a legal migrant 😂

Incredible, isn’t it. You think they’d be able to find more level-headed “normal” people for a vox pop in the middle of a working day… :D

I’m not creating an argument, I don’t debate on social media. I throw word handgrenades and walk away.

No one ever changes their opinion because of a post, the idea of reasoned debate online is nonsense - and Jon (I believe) understands this and ignores me accordingly 😁

Most people agree, but not as many as the polls suggest.  They are no doubt rationalising as it was due to Covid and Russia etc.

Aaaaaaand there’s more Tories who placed bets on the election date. Watch the news.

What a campaign.

I think we're hours away from their true masters adopting a physical form and hunting them down in the streets with some sort of death ray

This is probably the most grown up thing a British politician has said in years. Fair play, and hopefully this is the kind of rhetoric people can get behind.

He was brilliant tonight.  Steady and assured.  Just what is needed right now.

I concur. I'm one with no loyalty to any party. I vote to what I feel is the best option. This is the most sensible thing I have heard in a very long time. The poster is right, it does sound genuine as well.

It shows there might be a grown up in a sea of self indulgent poopers.
