Ex-footballer Joey Barton has been charged with making malicious communications.

The former Manchester City, Burnley and Rangers player is due to appear in court later this month.

On his X account, the 41-year-old said he had been charged over tweets relating to broadcaster and multiple league title winner Eniola Aluko.

Cheshire Police said the charges concerned messages sent between 1 and 18 January.

In a statement, a force spokesman said a man from Widnes had been "summoned to court to face charges of malicious communications".

They added that following a police investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service had "authorised the charges for Joseph Barton".

The spokesman said the former footballer was due to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court on 30 July.

He simply just can't help himself, can he?

The problem is that he just doesn't seem to care about the damages that he has done for a good while.

Leicester's name pops up in this article about illegal Asian betting companies:

Quote

A whirlwind of short-lived Asian gambling brands have taken over European football in recent seasons. Now, a US cybersecurity firm has proof that they are nearly all one-and-the-same entity.

Christ I could have told you that. It doesn't take much to find out information about these companies.

They will all disappear in the next 18 months

How long (supposedly) is LCFC's sponsorship deal with BC.GAME?

It's all premeditated to bring attention to himself & promote himself.  He has a following that agree with his hate messages.

We have a fixture clash with the Tiger's on 21st December, as they are already set to be on TV (every game is!) it looks like the Wolves game is going to have to move.

Guest Col city fan

Bookies faves with Coral to get relegated.

Presumably partly due to the dreaded points deduction (4/9 to go down)

Point deduction has something to do with it.

Last time I checked Manchester City were about 40/1 to go down... read into that.

For once, it would suit me if that moves from the Saturday.

They'll need to get used to conceding that second goal over and over this season lol

KDH didn't get on.

Haha I was expecting a play out from the back cock up but yeah, how many times did we see no defensive shape on the right of the defence, Millwall and Plymouth come to mind.
