League Cup to Introduce Seeding

Recommended Posts

Another completely crap idea, actually sort of changed my opinion half way through writing this.

I originally thought that it should as it has always been luck of the draw but then this meams we will get less prem vs prem games and more chance for smaller clubs to get the attention and money they diserve

Reading the proposal - it's the type of seeding that's happened before and currently does happen in Rounds 1/2

Does it need to be though ?

Clubs will just play weaken teams as they do now if there is fixture congestion.

I didn't think Round 2 was seeded, just regionalised?

Basically so the bigger clubs can rest their players until they have a sniff of silverware.

The 'big 6' are a cancer on the English game and it's rotting away from within. Wonder how many clubs they consulted/allowed a vote on this?

I'm sick of this narrative. They have to graft and work for everything just as much as we do. Name me one time they actually got their own way?

Ideological decision, they want the late rounds to be all the biggest clubs.

I think there already is hidden seeding on league fixtures, notice how Manchester United vs Liverpool is never the first game of the season?
