I feel sorry for the English fans when they travel, they just don't have the same experience like other countries do.

This is just complete bollocks lol

All nations do it differently, based on what their fans enjoy and want to do. All I've seen Scotland do that England aren't, is an organised walk to the ground, which is cool but never the English style and never will be.

Scotland fans have made the most of this tournament because they knew they wouldn't be there for long, and they don't know when the next one will be. Fair play for making the most of it but to say you "feel sorry" for England fans who'll likely be there twice as long as Scotland and be going off to another tournament in a couple of years is just bitterness.

Let's have a dose of reality here..

  1. Scotland's real achievement was qualification.  Anyone expecting to do well in that group was bring overly optimistic.
  2. We got what we deserved
  3. The Tartan Army are quite good.
  4. All England supporters aren't drunken bampots intent on destruction.
  5. The media will always sensationalise whatever they deem appropriate to sell column inches / reach viewers.
  6. England will probably do quite well.
  7. Southgate won't be around for long
  8. It's been a cracking competition so far and I hope it continues!

Just my view, other viewpoints are available..

Excuse me, we're engaging in irrational hyperbole on this thread, take your rationality somewhere else, please. :D

Just relaying what I've been told by various English fans over here and seeing it 1st hand.

As you say, differant nations do things differently.

It's a reflection of our Anglo-Saxon liberty and individualism. Article number 28 in the Magna Carta.

  • To the ground shall we go in our own free way, having drinketh much aelu, not in the style of the Scotts, excepteth when playing Milwall away, when accompanied by a police escort.

maybe he wanted to get it on his right, nothing un natural about it at all, they was moving at pace and there defender clipped the bit of the leg which will make you fall over.

They both fell over.  They both made contact, they both fell over, do they both get a free kick?  You can't apply the rule that says "there was contact, both players fell over, so it's a penalty" - you have to judge whose fault was the contact.

I don't think its in the english DNA to  just have a party at footbal tournaments, thats what other home nations do but i guess its a combination of things, like sol pointed out there's an expectation with England fans that borders on a desperation to win a trophy, other home nations realise theres no chance they'll win so just have a party instead and any win is a bonus.  The walks to stadiums is something every nation seems to do except england, its a shame but we are much more individual a supporters.

Plus we seem to have the worst songbook ever and an awful anthem.:D

Yeah, I know, 👍

It's not just about walks to the stadiums and partying. I'm guessing that is what is being relayed at home.

Roll on the League Cup group stages in a few weeks and I'll take up my residence on the Scottish football thread 👍 😁

Scotland living 'rent free' in lots of people's heads I see.

It's hard not to enjoy their (and Wales') failure given how much they hate us.

They'll be absolutely loving it in a couple of weeks time when we bow out in the semi's on penalties.

How does a country that develop the likes of Law, Daglish has so little attacking talent.

I doubt we’ll get anywhere near the semis

This myth about Scotland's support. Their anthem was great particularly in the last two games but heard very little during the games.

To be fair, I get it, there's only so much you can watch you team make absolutely no effort to do anything other than try not to concede goals.
