First half was decent. Yes Italy played the waiting game but both teams were still playing direct with midfield runs. It wasn't a bore fest for sure. 2nd half is on another level ofc. Simply as it is we don't stand a chance if and when we face any of these teams later in the tournament.

Croatia can't afford to go too defensive, they will just invite the pressure on again and again. Italy only need one breakthrough.

Agree we will need to look like scoring more goals or trying not to sit back .

Italy would probably still qualify if it finishes like this. They'd already be ahead of Hungary as one of the better 3rd best placed teams and would only need to be better than one more. Would probably be a much tougher draw than Switzerland though.

They can't do otherwise. This isn’t a squad full of youth players. They're all talking about Ronaldo but what Modric does at 38 is GOAT material if you take into account his position.

Crazily, in group E, every team could finish with more points than Italy and not go through.

 

I can also see Slovenia beating us to make Italy sweat.
