Really weird decision by Chelsea when all said and done. No previous achievements or managerial experience other than getting an overpowered Leicester team back out of the Championship. Can't help but think this will monumentally backfire by Christmas. Good luck to him, saves us inevitably paying him off.

Towards the end of last season, Maresca did voice his concerns over Leicester’s financial situation, with the club facing a points deduction on their return to the top division.

 

Yet after promotion was secured, and during a post-season trip to Monaco, it is understood that Maresca informed Leicester’s board – including owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha – that he was happy to stay.

 

He rejected offers abroad from Sevilla and Porto, and was heavily involved and invested in the club’s future planning.

 

On Maresca’s recommendation, Leicester declined an invitation to appear at the Stateside Cup in the United States this summer.

 

But, out of nowhere, Chelsea made an official approach on Monday May 27, and it soon became inevitable that Maresca would leave.

Enzo has moved on and so should we.  He’s not going to waste time speaking about us and nor should we be overly bitter about him moving. 

 

i take the clubs desire to back him (I assume that means financially) as a good thing.

Even Enzo's biggest fan Balague said that wasn't the deciding factor. He said Enzo believes he belongs among the elite, and Tanner added that he's a man in a hurry to get to the top level.

Should have asked in the interview then shouldn't he.

 

The guy left at the first chance and we took him from a coaching position, Chelsea wouldn't have done that. Hope he fails there and I have no doubt he will.

 

I just can't wait til he starts moaning again. What will it be this time though, the Chelsea board or the fans.

Did what was asked of him so fair play as far as I'm concerned. You can't blame him. Club's a basket case and he's probably at least tripled his salary over night. You'd have done it too.
