I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed.

It's the usual stuff when we play the top 3, we pretty much roll over from the start due to our lack of ambition.

Chelsea at home was the only exception, but that may have been more luck than judgement.

Slow and weak sums up our performance today.

I really want Eiriksdottir to get some more minutes going into these last few games. She has the only one to have shown that she is at least strong.

I like Shannon, but with Cain, Goodwin and/or Chossenotte either side of her, it makes us very one dimensional.

Las also needs more minutes, another player that will probably be very important for us next season.

On another (but very much connected) note... Where on earth is Rantala?!

Or even Peterman?

Neither are likely to play this season

Long journey back, it was rubbish tonight from the first minute, paid them too much respect. They attacked CJ every time and Miquel didn’t address it.
Obsession with Chossonotte is tiresome, O’Brien far more effective on the left not through the middle. Eriksdottir not mobile enough.
Palace game will be a benchmark of how far we’ve come this season, personally think Miquel will be kept on as she’ll use the injuries and the fact she’s kept them up (not confirmed but likely) to retain the job but for me personally, she’s taking the team backwards, I see nothing improving on the road week in week out.

I feel like Chossenotte tends to look more dangerous than the likes of Cain or O'Brien at times. She makes things happen a little bit more and has a bit more physicality.

But let's be real, once Goodwin is fit enough to start and *touchwood Rantala is back next season, we SHOULD be in a better place on the wings. Obviously assuming we can keep hold of them...

In terms of up front, Eiriksdottir isn't the most mobile, but she doesn't need to be with capable wingers next to her, she seems technically good and obviously has buckets of strength. I think she deserves a proper run-out and hopefully with a pre-season under her belt, we will start getting the best out of her.

I also don't agree that we are going backwards against Miquel, look at the first half of the season compared to now and we look like a different team for the most part, which gives credence to the injury crisis being the problem.

Against the likes of Arsenal, City or Chelsea, any team in the league could be on the receiving end of a hiding. Unfortunately that's the difference in class between them and the rest of the league.

We are much more consistent against those outside of the top 3/4.

Such a shame what's happened to the women's game. Was a breath of fresh air at first (WSL) but has become even worse than the men's in terms of the have's vs the have nots. The fact that the team sitting in 5th place in the table is there with a win percentage of 30% is absolutely abysmal for the competitiveness of the league. The teams down there can scrap against each other but have no chance against the bigger teams.

I disagree. Chossenotte is quicker, but is too easily knocked off the ball or dispossessed, probably due to taking too long on the ball deciding what she wants to do.

There's some strange selections going on. For instance, I thought Takarada had her best game in a Leicester shirt against Brighton a few weeks back. Barely been seen since.

Nailed it, little point in having pace if the football brain isn’t working, Miquel will continue to pick her as it’s her signing, in the same way she’ll pick Mouchon once fit. Going to be an interesting summer as I know there’s a couple already not re-signing up.

Whilst I do agree that her decision making can be slow, that is something that can be worked on, whereas a physical attribute like pace can't really be taught.

To be honest though, games like the Arsenal game will always be tough as she will not have a lot of support due to us playing more defensively.

She's also very young, so has that on her side.

Would she be a starter if we had a full fully fit squad?... No, but she's probably as good as we have right now with a squad that lacks depth anyway.

Nervy six-pointer awaits Leicester City Women as Ruby Mace update emerges ahead of England visit
The latest Leicester City Women news after a heavy defeat to Arsenal and with Women's Super League survival still not secured, setting up a potential nervy encounter

Leicester City Women’s joint-heaviest defeat of the season at Arsenal means survival cannot now be achieved until at least next weekend.

A 5-1 loss at the Emirates leaves City seven points ahead of bottom side Crystal Palace, and with the Eagles still to play four games.

It means that even if Palace lose to unbeaten table-toppers Chelsea next Wednesday, safety won’t be guaranteed for City.

So next Sunday is the earliest by which City can achieve survival and they will hope it’s wrapped up that weekend to avoid a nervy finish.

City are at home to fourth-placed Manchester City while Palace host mid-table West Ham. If Palace better City's result that weekend, Amandine Miquel's side will still be in the relegation battle by the time they travel to bottom side the following weekend.

The results in the second half of the season have changed the mood around the team, and it’s been a case of looking up the table and potentially claiming the club’s best-ever Women’s Super League finish.

But even while the buffer of Aston Villa remains between City and the relegation spot, and even with Palace unlikely to pick up enough results based on their form, there’s still a job to be done. They will want to avoid the six-pointer that’s on the horizon.

Goal problems exposed by top scorer

It shows just how much City have struggled at the top end of the pitch this season that by scoring her third goal of the WSL campaign in what proved to be a consolation at Arsenal, Yuka Momiki is now the club’s joint-top scorer, level with Janice Cayman.

City weren’t particularly prolific before, but Jutta Rantala scored six last term and Lena Petterman bagged five, with their season-long injuries making a considerable impact.

It’s now 15 goals in 19 matches for Miquel and her players, the joint-fewest in the division.

Mace could be involved as Lionesses come to town

Just as they did in 2023, City will host the Lionesses at the King Power Stadium in June when they play Jamaica in what will be their final warm-up fixture before the Euros this summer.

The game, at 5pm on Sunday, June 29, will give Leicester locals the chance to cheer England on before they fly to Switzerland, and potentially see a City player represent the country.

Miquel is not giving too much away on midfielder Ruby Mace and her recovery from a knee injury, but it’s sounding more like she will be able to feature before the campaign is out.

“She’s following the expected return time that we plan,” Miquel said. “We have to be cautious because there can be differences and we’ll adapt as we go on. But I hope she will soon be able to play.”

Mace may feel she needs to prove her fitness in the WSL in order to clinch a spot in Sarina Wiegman’s squad, and then hopefully feature for England at the King Power.

Tickets for the match go on general sale next Thursday, April 24.

Tickets for the Palace away game are on sale. Done all the league games this season, and hoping for a first away win, only 2 points on the road all season is abysmal! Serious questions of Miquel need asking if we lose at Palace.

The Mockery calling the Palace game a "six-pointer" is stretching it a bit. As things currently stand we have a less than 0.5% probability of getting relegated according to Opta...

The mockery has been clickbait for years tbf
