I was literally about to say could be worse could be Southgate.

Even tho I'm no happy with Cooper, we all need to get behind him ,our club is in a difficult situation this season ,so good luck to  Cooper

Completely agree. I was being a little facetious, more a swipe at Southgate than Cooper.

I'm not going to bemoan an incoming manager before he's had a chance.

Last time I was very disappointed with an appointment, my friend Nigel had been sacked and we'd appointed a rather uninspiring elderly Italian who was past his best ....

Funnily enough I changed my opinion on him during the course of the season.

Posted an Athletic article earlier about what Cooper can bring and here are a couple of paragraphs that stood out:

"Above all, however, Cooper wanted to use the time to improve himself.

He has teamed up with specialist analysts to scrutinise every aspect of his management. He has examined all the data. He has kept busy, watching all sorts of matches at home and abroad...

He has, in short, tried to take in as much new information as he can. He has been determined to improve and make sure, as all good managers do, that he is always evolving. He was open to managing abroad, possibly in the German Bundesliga."

AND

"Cooper is a student of the game and one of the youngest people — maybe even the youngest — to obtain his UEFA Pro Licence coaching qualification, which he did at age 27. And like a lot of modern managers, he has come to realise it is better to be adaptable rather than being completely wedded to one style of play."

PLUS

"What Leicester’s fans will find is a manager with an incredibly useful knack for inspiring players and fostering a spirit of togetherness. It is his greatest strength. Even when Forest broke all sorts of records by signing 29 players in the 2022-23 season, Cooper had the force of personality to mould everyone together and create what, at times, felt like a siege mentality."

Also, come across as a very decent person.

Like many fans, wasn't my first choice but the more I read about him, I can see why he got the role.

Sounds promising

A manager who learns, has some self-awareness and is adaptable.  I like them apples.

We’re in the Premier League. We really aren’t in as much shit as people like to make out.

I have to disagree with you. The whole system is like roulette  to me. Yes we're  in the prem but we will be tonked week in week out. Had we been ran properly  we shouldn't have left the prem.  Top and the morons below him did nothing when it was obvious  18 months before Brendan was sacked what was happening. These same  arseholes  have spunked ridiculous money on bang average players.  We now find ourselves in  a position  that we will take any manager that says  ill do it  while rinsing the fans to cover their incompetence.  But yeah things are rosey

I like that he's trying to improve. I'll support him but it's such an underwhelming appointment

It’s been a weird day, I was totally unimpressed following the announcement of Cooper’ s appointment this morning but as the day has gone on I have felt increasingly positive about it without being able to put my finger on why. Maybe its because he comes across as a decent, hard working and committed bloke without an ego and that counts for a lot after Rodgers. He’s clearly aware of some negativity towards him but his letter was a good way of trying to connect with fans and get things off to a positive start.

Feel totally the same, strangely positive without any real idea why! Somehow fresh.  :dunno:

Also, gigs and concerts aren't comparable to being a football fan.  You may see a concert as a one off but you wouldn't go to see Bruce Springsteen every other Saturday and a weds night thrown in, like you would following football.

Hamza, Vardy and Ricardo are behind him let's just all pull in the same direction.

I'm hardly the happy clapper KPFC type but like I did with Raneri I had an open mind and got behind him 👊🏻

I'm all for giving the new guy a chance but honestly is this the best we can do? :(

I'm all for seeming to be positive but honestly I'm negative.

Lets get positive FFS.

Most of us were worried that Enzo ball might see us bomb in the Prem so we have the chance of a more pragmatic flexible approach.

Not my first choice but I'm getting quite upbeat about a fresh more attacking style.

Is it a bird, is it a plane?

Nooo.... It's CooperMan, the Flying Fox!!  😂😂

I think a lot of fans who are critical of the appointment will end up liking him. Yes, he isn’t the inspirational appointment many wanted/expected but we are no longer the top 6, cup winning, European competing club we were. We have an idiot as an owner and a board to match. We are a newly promoted club with financial and regulatory issues. This is difficult for many of us to accept given our drastic drop. I also think there is this delusion around Potter who many wanted which I can’t understand.

Enzo excited but worried me last season, he had one job, get us up. Cooper worries me but there is a hint of excitement because he had our number 2 out of the three times we played them. He also made their ground an absolute fortress. He has one job too, keep us up. Good luck, boss, shake it up.
