Faes, Vestergaard, Choudhary & Daka should be nowhere near a premier league starting line up. Vardy is nowhere near the level he used to be.

I agree apart from Vards - he would still score goals but should not be our first choice as we need his experience but hamza, Wout, Daka were bang average last season but the standard was dreadful so made them look better than they are …..the core team still has too many who took us down and they were poor squad members let alone starters…….based upon the signings we have made we may need a complete rebuild in the Championship…..sadly

Isn’t it a bit of both though Finners?

Burnley won the 22/23 Championship with over 100 points, they had Premier League experience scattered through their squad and look how they got on last season.

At the end of the day, we had the likes of Ricardo, Ndidi, Faes, Vestergaard, Vardy, Daka and Justin with us the last time we were in the Premier League and got relegated with them. Choudhury got loaned out the last time we were in the Prem. While Conor Coady wasn’t wanted by Wolves or Everton.

Cooper’s tactics have been poor in pre season, but I said it after the Augsburg game and might as well say it again now, elements of this squad just fvcking suck and are nowhere near Premier League quality.

Agree.

We haven’t even played any premier league opposition yet and he is getting the excuses in early.
By doing so he is effectively giving the squad a perfect excuse to underperform in the upcoming games, before they even get on the pitch.

Faes was a starting CB for Belgium at the Euros, he wasn’t in the dregs of the Championship for standard.

You can destroy youngsters in a team getting dicked every week and based upon Coopers tactics so far we will not be competitive as he has no Plan A let alone a Plan B

He is carp and no one will convince me otherwise he’s a liability who does not concentrate - not great on the ball, not big enough to dominate physically, not quick …..and Belgium frankly had way better players attacking wise so dominated possession but they were still carp too so do not see your point tbh

Nothing decided in pre season but its not been a great start and as a new manager you need to get fans on side, he hasn't done that in pre season.

Some factors outside of his control, which gives a little benefit of the doubt but that will soon wear off. Attacking options are nowhere near proven at Premier League level and links if new signing don't inspire confidence.

But we lack goals and lack creativity, that’s not an excuse, hundreds of fans on this forum have said the exact same thing ever since KDH was sold.

Elements of this squad are just not up to Premier League standard, we have a bunch of car crash style defenders, we have Ndidi, Choudhury and Soumare as midfield options and Daka is still one of our main strikers.

If you or I were manager, we’d be saying the exact same thing that Cooper has said today.

This was always coming, I can't believe anyone truly looked at our squad last year and thought we'd be OK in the Prem with that personnel??

Jury out on Mads but only because he's yet to play at this level

None of the defence are premiership quality with the possible exception of a fit and healthy Ricky.

Midfield now that KDH has gone is completely bereft. Winks shone at Championship level because that's his level. There's a reason he got turfed out of Spurs and that's cos he's not Prem quality.

Jury out on the wingers, Mavididi was a downgrade on Barnes, and you get the feeling with Fatawu that his constant run inside and shoot manoeuvre will be easily negated by Prem defenders.

Which then leaves us with Daka, an ageing and injury prone Vardy and Cannon.

Okoli appears to make Brian Carey and Nicky Mohan look like prime Baresi.

It can't be any shock surely!!!

The biggest worry is that it doesn't look like the players have bought in to what ever cooper is trying to do.

It must be such a comedown to go from maresca to cooper then have to keep a new system against teams that are too good for us.

We really needed another friendly against lower league opposition do they we could practice some of the new tactics and moves.  It's too late now.

When you talk about pl standard we are aiming to finish 17th onwards. There are 2 other teams promoted along side us that could also struggle.

KDH got 2 goals and 2 assists last time he played in the prem.

We have just signed Buonanotte, for creativity. I don’t doubt we still need more. But it should’ve been a conversation kept private.
He is basically covering his arse, just like how Rodgers did and look how that went after he said the squad wasn’t good enough and the players are beaten before a ball is kicked.
