Fabio Carvalho

This guy will be like McAtee in Sheffield Utd. Stand out a lot in a poor team and ultimately do himself no harm in playing every week and impressing. He's better than McAtee probably aswell and isnt looking out of place in Liverpools team in their pre season. If we can get some sort of deal done around the 20-25m mark then we should do it because he's the best we are going to get.

But bigger and better sides will jump on this I feel if he is available for that price. From here and Europe. I even think he might stay at Liverpool, he's a good player.

Definitely shouldn't be looking anywhere near him.

I love this take everyone has that he got nearly 30 goals but won't have another good season. He was the best player we played against last season in my opinion, can play as a 10 or a 9, links play, can finish. Anyone you buy is a gamble, but someone who got 30 goals in a crap team is probably worth a gamble.

He's not Premier League quality. He's proven that over his entire career.

Would be classic Leicester to turn their nose up at young, hungry players with resale value and go after Szmodics because he scored three goals against us when we were either hungover or passing the ball directly to him.

Brother in law is a Liverpool fan and he reckons the rumour up there is that they are trying to sweeten us up a bit as we're in the midst of legal action over an illegal approach for Nyoni. Therefore they're likely to encourage both Carvalho and Doak to join us to try and placate us a bit.

After ripping us off with Ward they should give us Mo on a free!!!!

Willing to bet that Szmodics will never score as many Premier League goals as Daka already has.

Worth a gamble at a certain price, yes. They supposedly want about £20m for him which is very questionable value for a 28-year-old with one good season above League One level and not a lot else. Look at the list of Championship top scorers over the past decade or so and then look at how many have come anywhere near replicating that form in the Premier League.

Anyway, since this isn't the Szmodics thread - Carvalho would be good but surely a loan would be more likely? Wonder how much Southampton had rejected

I saw the rejected bid was £15m and that Liverpool wanted "significantly more".

Signing any player represents a risk ..  there is never going to be a 100% agreement on any signing unless it's a world class player and even then some would moan

Nah, you clearly don't remember Hossein Kaebi.

This. We're a laughing stock. The fat kid in the school yard. Last pick.

Szmodics literally scored 28 goals for a woeful Blackburn team ..he is clearly a better player than daka ..

With a name like that he would score  more working for pornhub.

I like Carvalho but I worry Liverpool are going to want over £20m and he’s not worth that in my opinion.

I do wonder whether we are looking at spending £20m on a couple of players or just the one. Him and Asprilla would be very good business with resale value and would give you depth in the 3 behind the striker with Fatawu, Stephy, Reid, Carvalho and Asprilla.
