Yassine Azzouz I think.

He's one of the (many) academy players who's currently training with our first team

Het Nieuwsblad reports Birger Verstraete is to sign soon until 2027, coming back from Greece to be closer to his kids.

other rumours:

* Omgba from NAC Breda: nothing heard recently guess this deal is off

* Anicet Oura, Ivorian winger playing in South Africa. Competition from Beerschot.

* Making deal with Lommel to loan Talvitie for his remaining 1y contract

* Brunes, Kiyine, Miguel to leave

* interest for Sagrado

* what else?

Brunes risk didn’t pay off shame, you still haven’t replaced Thomas Henry

Verstraete official now, solid signing and a type of player we definitely missed last season. The kind of guy who picks up a relatively large amount of yellows but a very good six with an excellent shot from distance as well.

In regards to some of the others:

Omgba: Fizzled out, probably because NAC gained promotion to the Eredivisie.

Brunes, Kiyine and Miguel not included in the training camp so all being forced out.

There's a bid from Venezia for Sagrado but not accepted yet afaik, 2.5M + bonuses + percentage on future sale.

Misao could possibly go back to Japan.

LEICESTER CITY’S SISTER CLUB OH LEUVEN’S TRANSFER STRATEGY CALLED INTO QUESTION AGAIN AS ANOTHER OF LAST SUMMER’S ACQUISITIONS DEPARTS THE CLUB

17 July 2024
It is becoming somewhat of a yearly tradition at OH Leuven that whoever is bought in the summer is either gone by January or the following summer. This time, midfielder Kento Misao has left the club after barely 12 months to join Kashima Antlers. Misao only came in last summer from Santa Clara, but is already back in Japan to re-join the side he played for prior to moving to Europe. The midfielder made 21 appearances for OH Leuven, scoring once and grabbing one assist. He re-joins the Antlers looking to add to his incredible 243 appearances for the side.

Misao is set to be just one of a number of departees from last summers window. Record signing Jonatan Braut Brunes was not included in the training squad by head coach Oscar Garcia, while there are then also rumours that defender Florian Miguel will be allowed to leave. This pattern is one of the reasons why the side found themselves in a relegation scrap last season, and could well do the same if they do not get the recruitment right this time around. Already, the squad is looking unbalanced with a very strong central midfield core but not much outside of that. Given that they want to add another talented midfielder in William Balikwisha to this area is questionable, even if the departure of Misao somewhat frees up space.

OH Leuven can ill afford to have another summer of poor recruitment. The side should learn the lessons of their sister club Leicester City in the dangers of relegation.

Pretty sure they were a second division club at that point. So you could argue that they’ve done pretty well.

I'll let the residents debunk this one.

It's not been easy to replace good players leaving each year, i.e. Henry's goals, Mercier's assists.

They were a lower league side for the whole of their history. They have only been a top tier side since the takeover. So I would say that have improved under king power. It would be unrealistic to expect them to be mixing it with the top teams.
