Ideal Premier League Teams

Recommended Posts

I live in the North so as many Northern away days as possible.

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Birmingham
Blackburn
Blackpool
Bolton
Burnley
Chelsea
Everton
Hull
Leeds
Leicester
Liverpool
Man City
Man Utd
Newcastle
Sheffield Wednesday
Sunderland
Spurs
Wigan

Edit: Just spotted the big six caveat. Replace those with their nearest non PL club:

Man City = Stockport

Man Utd = Salford City

Chelsea = QPR

Spurs = Leyton Orient

Arsenal = Barnet

Liverpool = Tranmere

Including ourselves, which other 19 teams would make your ideal Premier League division?

Other caveat being that the 'big six' aren't included cos they can do one.

If Chelsea aren't in it then who buys all the players?

Ok so based purely on clubs that I consider to have PL "pedigree":

Leicester

Derby

Forest

Coventry

Villa

Stoke

Wolves

WBA

Newcastle

Sunderland

Leeds

Boro

Sheff Weds

Everton

Norwich

Palace

West Ham

Southampton

That leaves 2 places which I can't decide between the other obvious contenders: Portsmouth, Burnley, Blackburn, Bolton, Ipswich & maybe QPR!

A ridiculous suggestion that the best league in the world should be polluted by the presence of tin pot Mickey Mouse clubs, farcical. I mean Derby County ffs!

Think the division needs expanding to 21 teams.

Man Utd

Man Utd 'B' team

Man Utd 'C' team

Man City

Man City 'B' team

Man City 'C' team

Liverpool

Liverpool 'B' team

Liverpool 'C' team

Chelsea

Chelsea 'B' team

Chelsea 'C' team

Arsenal

Arsenal 'B' team

Arsenal 'C' team

Spurs

Spurs 'B' team

Spurs 'C' team

Sir Jim Ratcliffe doesn't have an account on here, so I've done it for him.

And yes, he did read the caveat but decided his views were more important than yours.

Excluding the big 6, and trying to give a good geographic variation and some local derbies.

Still ended up at 24, not really sure who else to drop out - maybe Palace/Brighton and the Welsh clubs?  I'd happily drop Everton too but the North West is looking a bit sparse!

East Mids [3]:

Leicester, Derby, Forest

West Mids [3]:

Coventry, Villa, Birmingham

East Anglia [2]:

Norwich, Ipswich

Yorkshire [3]:

Sheffield Utd, Sheffield Weds, Leeds

North East [3]:

Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesboro

North West [2]:

Everton, Blackburn

London [3]:

Fulham, Crystal Palace, West Ham

Wales [2]:

Cardiff, Swansea

South Coast [3]:

Portsmouth, Southampton, Brighton

Aston Villa

Birmingham City

Blackpool

Brighton

Bristol City

Cambridge United (stop laughing)

Cardiff City

Hull City

Ipswich

er….Leicester City

Newcastle

Norwich City

Notts County

Notts Forest

Sheffield Weds

Sunderland

Swansea City

West Ham

Wolves

Wrexham

No big 6 or Everton whose  continued existence is pointless. Included the 3 Welsh, Bristol City who are due a go and plenty of Derby clubs (Newcastle v Sunderland etc) but not Derby. Always had a soft spot for Cambridge and the thought of Blackpool away in August or May.

Close call for Palace and Preston but narrowly missed out.
