indierich06 Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August Maybe Rudkin was asking Top about our outgoing transfers and misunderstood? Rudkin: What shall we do about all this Deadwood boss? Summer window hasn't been great so far. Top: Skip? Rudkin: Say no more

Muzzy_no7 Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August It’s a good signing but we are overpaying massively. 12m tops. Could be PSR related. Spurs after Faes?
Ricey Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August Potentially £25M and yet we were apparently weighing up whether spending a similar amount on Ioannidis was worth it. I think Skipp will be a decent addition, but he's never worth more than £15M. I fully expected it to be a loan with an option and then for us to spend our budget on more pressing areas of the team. 2 1
Gazza3 Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August Could we not have tried to get Phillips on loan . Would make more sense . Need to cull the deadwood asap
Scotch Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August It's quite frustrating actually because if we had went and added Hlozek, Zaha and Skipp like we seem to have wanted, it would IMO anyway, created a bit of optimism.

What concerns me is how many on here are mates with Spurs fans Where I live is mainly Arsenal, Spurs and other London clubs. Would be Billy No Mates if I did not socialise with at least a few. Good news is no Forest or Coventry to worry about

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August 34 minutes ago, woollett the bullet said: Any other club would only make a signing like this after virtually guaranteeing their main target ( striker in our case ). But with us at the moment . . . . . Shall we give them the benefit of the doubt and say that this is the case and the Skipp deal just moved quicker ? Given Cooper’s managed him at England youth level and our midfield looked a bit powder puff - this could be one of our main targets.
Shane Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August 22 minutes ago, Ric Flair said: We're not targeting the right markets. We're still a huge move for players from Scandinavia, South America, Japan etc. You'd not pay £25m for the privilege either. Michael Baidoo for example, he is being linked to some clubs for £4m. Add a couple million because of PL tax and thats still a bargain. 11 minutes ago, LestaLad said: £35m on okoli and skipp I don’t mind Skipp to be honest and think he will improve the midfield, but with good scouting you could bring in 4-5 decent players for £35m. Thebluefox85 Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August What the FU£k are we doing here 25m!!!! why can everyone see it apart from the morons at the helm of this club our scouting network is the absolute pits!!! The manager has his head in the clouds of ayew signing on the back of this useless #%#% I’m going to loose my mind
Sunbury Fox Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August To think when I heard on the radio that we had agreed a £20m fee for a Tottenham player, I was thinking it must be for Lo Celso. Tottenham have absolutely had our pants down again. The club are just trolling us now.

Saxondale Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August I’m not going to comment on his transfer fee because they’re all just made up numbers these days. I can’t really tell much difference between a £30m player and a £3m player. It’s all just bollocks. As I’ve said repeatedly, a players is only ‘worth’ what the selling team is willing to accept to release him from his contract.
DerbyshireFox Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August Pros: - Good age, time to develop and improve and potential resale value. - Improvement on Hamza, potentially Ndidi as well - Well thought of at the clubs he’s played for, reputation for grafting and getting stuck in, which we will need. - ‘Top flight’ experience Cons: - The most obvious one is the fee. £20m plus add ons is from the sounds of things, a significant portion of our budget. If we are weighing up if the same sort of money is right to spend on a promising striker, what makes us willing to spend that on Skipp (other than premier league experience) - Again probably more fee related, this signing doesn’t solve one of our biggest problems, which is a lack of goal threat and creativity from the midfield. Fully understand that is an area we will/should be looking at, but concerned that spending such a big chunk of money on Skipp isn’t going to allow us to do that. Buananotte may well be a very good addition, but he needs help. It is going to be interesting to see how Fatawu and Mavididi step up. I understand the championing of Alves, but I think getting some first team football out on loan would do much more for his development than staying with us in the situation we’ll be in this season. Hopefully we get this deal over the line, all be it overpaying I feel. I just hope there’s enough left over to strengthen in the most needed areas of the squad. Popular Post Finnegan Posted 18 August Popular Post Share Posted 18 August If we don't have money left over to spend at least this on a striker and attacking midfielder, I want Rudkin and Cooper fired in to the sun.
honeybradger Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August The way I'm choosing to see it is that we're £20mil of bad business closer to Rudkin being shown the door.
Lambert09 Posted 18 August Share Posted 18 August this is genuinely why you’re best off not dealing with the entitled 6 clubs. They only value him as 20m in comparison to the fact that they wasted 50m on someone like archie Gray. It’s a trickle down effect, we’ve been the mugs that allow them to apply that flawed logic and actually pay it. We’ve wasted the maddison money. We’ve wasted the kdh money. A hard working player with no real quality is not worth anymore than 8m and you can’t convince me otherwise.
