Let's face it - the Olympics isn't a major event for golf, football or tennis, and it sort of shows. I love the camaraderie and the shear joy you get from so many of the competitors in the other sports.

They often come across as being very humble and grounded too, which makes their interviews more human and natural.

They don't have the arrogance of modern footballers, who think they're more than someone good at a single sport that just happens to pay well.

Olympics should be the pinnacle of an athletes sport.

Football, Tennis Golf all have their big finals and tours where the players get their accolades and money. Abit farcical they are  in the Olympics

Would be a massive surprise tbh, 99.9% of the time the womens Korean archery specialists only lose to each other. They're fearsome.

for sure. but that winning arrow in the last round with a partisan french crowd. was nerves of adamantium, insane stuff for a 16 year old.

So it proved - Havers did damn well but lost 7-4, and then Lim easily saw off all other comers to win gold in the final.

I'm not entirely sure what performance the judges were watching to only give Whitehouse sixth there.

The BBC fellow thought he was going to get gold with that performance. Bit of a shock,  that score.

Yeah, seriously. Shades of Torvill and Dean in 1994 about it all.

Guess it's just the rub with sports that don't have a totally cut and dried scoring system and rely on what can be subjective judging.

Whitehouse not disagreeing with the scoring.

Did you feel that your score was too low?

"I was down on my difficulty score because I landed my second tumble lower than 90 degrees so they take quite a lot of marks off for that so I was way down on difficulty."

That explains things then.

Good job us laymen aren't judges. lol
