It looked to me like Okoli didn't quite trust his left foot. I'm not sure I'm ready for that in PL.

 

Hopefully it's just a case of him needing to get up to speed.

The kid has some real quality about him - certainly a reason to be excited for the coming season.

Not always a lot you can take from pre season games, but, I thought Okoli looks decent, Thomas is shit. Soumare showed the usual flashes of quality here and there, Alves looks really comfortable in the team, he’s ready to step up in my opinion.

Alves just looks a step above everyone when he’s on the ball, if he’s not starting in the first 5-10 games I’ll be very surprised. Soumare needs to get gone. Golding looks an excellent player too. Still very scrappy overall though, ball retention extremely poor

Decent run out. McAteer best player and some decent first half performances. 

 

Soumare had his usual poor touches and clumsy play but actually thought he played alright generally. 

 

Bright touches from Golding and Alves, shame we couldn't get them involved more. Turned back fat too often. 

 

Okoli was far from convincing. Can excuse a bit of rusty defending but looked far from comfortable on the ball, even more so has a left centre back. Don't want to judge yet of course, but we will see if he turns out better than what we've already got.

Wanya was quiet but did some nice bits of play which created the attacks on the other side.

Golding and Alves looked bright as did Patson, not sure what Cooper has done with his old touch

Okoli a total bombscare. Can pass but seemingly can't get rid quick enough. 

Souttar played like a pub player. 

Soumare hasn't changed some nice touches but conservatively gave the ball away about 9 or 10 times.

 

Positives were McAteer playing inside right. Golding looks like he's got all week on the ball and uses it well. Coady and Nelson looked good.  Fatawu and Mavididi combined well a few times and can definitely flex positions more this year. Cannon looked lively

Alves was a big plus and can really take that inside left position and go for it if Cooper trusts him

Liking the accordion like passing from Coady to a dropping deeper Daka then back to Winks? Then forward to the runner,  maybe McAteer. That was vey nice.
