Matias Soule agent comments

We're an absolute state at the moment but this is horseshit. Clubs like Brentford are well run, definitely have a project, no way he chooses them over Roma. It's not complicated, he just had interest from an attractive club.

More like his agent didn’t want him to go to a club that wouldn’t pay him the biggest fee.

If he didn’t want to listen to the proposal how does he know we’ve not got one? Isn’t survival the the first and most important thing, grow from there.

The club have a lot to answer for but I can’t be arsed getting angry over someone who had no interest in coming in the first place and no guarantee he’d have been any good for the large amount he’d have cost and is probably spouting bullshit anyway.

Gosh even players and agents in other countries know Leicester's a basket case....how embarrassing thanks Top Rudkin and Whelan 👏

We aren't a basket case at all. People on FoxesTalk just love these kind of comments from the agent, but in reality we would be very attractive still for many players.

Why did we pursue it so long? You literally find this out from the agent first these days. Did they blindly think they'd be able to convince him once they could talk to him?

I wouldn't be as bothered if we instantly went in for someone else of the same ilk. Hopefully we have and there just isn't any noise yet. If we really did pursue this for that long and then go and get Ayew you really do have to wonder what the **** is going on any more.

Yeah, sounds like an honest opinion of the club. Nice to get an insight, shame it's so negative.

It might be honest and it might be true, but to come out and say it, unprompted, is very disrespectful not to mention downright rude.

Any old club, indeed!  The very cheek of it all.  Does he not know who we are?

On one hand I kinda think "**** you", I said in the transfer thread he clearly didn't want to come here and whilst I appreciate unless you're a Leicester fan why would you want to come here, it's a job, it's a stepping stone but if you don't wanna be here and/or are engineering a move away before you've even got here then i'd rather you didn't come at all. Players who didn't want to be here, simply picking up pay cheques and/or were engineering moves away are a big reason why we're in the mess we're in.

On the other hand, re: the "No Sporting Project" comment, he has a very valid point. Truth hurts and hopefully it's a reality check within the club. (It won't be)

More the point of we don't have any sort of plan, so if we had one and that was relayed the fans, players, sponsors etc know what we are aiming for.  Best examples I can think of are Brentford and FC Nordsjælland. It's all scalable.

It's hard to argue they have a plan if they won't say anything. Hard to say if people would be onboard with a rebuilding period statement however they worded it.

I would be fine with it though. Just be nice to hear something.

Let's just hope they have a secret master plan we are all too stupid to understand.

I mean he isn't entirely wrong, right now our whole sporting project is just going to be all based around survival - quite hard to plan anything beyond that

Where as in comparison at Roma they are spending more money than they have in a few years, playing in Europe, and wanting to push on for Champions League

I don't think it is really anything to beat the club / Rudkin about

Not really our loss to be honest, £30m was way too much for him in my opinion. To be honest I’m just happy to learn we have that sort of money to spend on another player, then again we probably have Rudkin starting up the casino again to be forking out 30m for him.

Why does that bother you though? 😂 Its common knowledge the club is run by a bunch of clueless muppets

why does me thinking he's a cheeky ****er makes you think it bothers me? i actually think it's funny

What’s even more damming than this statement is the fact that we kept on pursuing him when he so clearly didn’t want to join. It shows how out of touch Ruskin etc are with reality. DILY DING DILY DONG DICK HEADS

Look, we don't know what was communicated to the club. An agent's job is to get the very best deal he can for his client. And if that includes stringing along us, so that he has a big contract offer from us to force others to pay more, then they will do it.

He also says it was only when the Roma interest came to light, that his client didn't want anything else.

And, as I said in the original thread, this sporting project stuff is more likely about wanting to go to someone higher up the table, a club that's not just got promoted, lost their manager and without a points deduction hanging over them.

We are starting again sadly, most on here would say Ipswich have a project... but he's not going to go there is he.

The comments are absolutely spot on.

As for whether they should have been aired in public by this agent, you can interpret that as either an unprofessional individual or perhaps the club caused tension with them during negotiations hence these cheap shots in the media.
