Yaser Asprilla - signed for Girona

Recommended Posts

Has he really only got a year on his contract?

You've got top Portuguese team, middle of the pack French team and bottom rung Premier League team.  So on that basis we're losing the race. However, he's obviously based in England currently, so theoretically less upheaval. Ultimately most players want to play in the Premier League, albeit at the top end of it, but we then have the shop window element.  Porto have CL football and (regular) trophy winning credentials. Not sure what value a Colombian puts in domestic trophies in Europe tbh.  So it might all comes down to wages! And opportunity.  If he's a right winger there's a lot of them already at Porto, they just made Conceicao permanent, so he's got stiff competition there. We're dryer than a nuns chuff, so he would get gametime here.

Is it a player that we need? Yes.

Is it a player that we could afford. Yes

Should we try to get him before other clubs. Yes

Would he potentially be good for us. Yes

Does it get Foxestalk approval. Seems to

And for those reasons, this isn't going to happen. Close thread.

Will the club make an embarrassing first bid allowing Ipswich to get him for £5m under the asking price, then Rudkin and Top saunter off into the sunset for tea, medals and naked bum slaps in the shower. Maybe.

But didn’t we all want Ayew?

in all seriousness, if this lands then another example of how we should just ignore the long, drawn out speculation links as it’s not the way we like to operate.

when players actually arrive the deal tends to be already done when we first hear about the link (eg Okoli)

First time in a long time a player has indeed turned out to be a smokescreen for another player.

Why is our priority position a RW who can also play CAM? Please can we just target an actual midfielder.

He's played down the middle just as much as he has on the right wing.

Given the players we've been linked with, Doak aside, they've all covered plenty of different positions in the front line.

Additionally, even if we get him it doesn't mean we're finished in the market.

Apparently visited Rennes yesterday with the expectation to sign for them.
But has now flown back.

Maybe we’ve been used to push a deal along or maybe there is late strong interest!

A right winger though, meh.

What's he doing in London though?

My feelings exactly

However, I’m starting to think, that Cooper might not play a number 10 hardly ever.

probably 4-3-3 with a 6 and two 8s

and 3-4-3 with a 6 and an 8

I think he might be thinking Alves is the one we need should he play 4-2-3-1 with cover from BDCR and a new guy (Asprilla type) should we need him)

despite a concrete approach from Stade Rennais for the young Colombian winger from Watford Yasser Asprilla, the player is on his way to Leicester  his agent is in England to negotiate a deal which could reach 25 million €

Surely not...but it would be nice to get one over on Watford after that historic play-off game.

Taking their most talented player would be lovely.

This could well be true then....
