It's fairly standard.  If everyone who was convicted of indecent images of children offences were sent to prison, you'd need to double the number of prisons.

Suspended sentences are typical in these cases.  Whether that's right or wrong, is probably another discussion, but it is the way it is.

No, there is absolutley no discussion needed whatsoever. Nonces belong in prison away from the general public, and thats them being let off lightly

Agree with some of those points but I can't unsee millionaire Keir Starmer accepting donations for clothes and specs, alongside his wife, where there are millions of people in this country who can't afford the basics - or eat or heat their homes? He can afford all of the above and should of said thanks, but no thanks. If the working man with a wife and 2 kids can afford a suit to go to work, he can.

agreed. it's a poor look. (pardon the pun)

You're having a laugh!! The majority of politicians across the political divide are all on the make.

You've only to go back to MPs 'Allowances & Expenses' scandal to see what they were up to and my guess is very little has changed.

The worse thing is Labour have always stated they are on the side of the "working" man/woman, what a joke!!

There is speculation concerning older person's bus pass. Often the press states that passes are available to those over 60. This is true for those living in London and I believe the devolved governments but is not true in the rest of England. The pass is only then issued to people of retirement age currently 66.

He was never going down, first offence and the fact the distributor of the pics (a more serious offence and had previous) only got a.suspended

Tbh, I do think that it's also fair to factor in the man is ruined. Totally ruined. That's no defence of him,.but it is probably fair to consider when sentencing.

Age as well play a part ?

He had admitted being wrong and had the reputation trashed .

The case aside, I think the concept of being ruined is quite a fascinating thought to recover or rehabilitate from (for me at least,. probs not quite as fascinating for Huw Edwards and Gary glitter)

Like we all play the game of 'what would you do if you won the lottery? - buy a place in the sun etc etc' ....but this being the opposite; how does someone react to complete and total reputational ruin?

Some probably manage to if they are younger but not for serious offences like this .

Yeah. At a quick think the options are to clear off to say, rural Sweden/Norway who seem to have a relaxed attitude to crime and might be more tolerant for reintegration into society.

Or, spend a year at home in your flat learning Spanish and clear off to remote Paraguay and live a simple farm life and hope nobody gives a shit.

Once upon a time, didn't desperate men run off to the french foreign legion...join up,. no questions.asked?

No easy options to reinvent yourself with that level of fame.

Israeli settlers, apparently escorted by the IDF attack a Palestinian primary school. The ****, attacking a primary school. Not very much information the MSN but plenty of videos circulating - one of them chasing a female teacher with bats.

This is a state backed operation. The settlers are protected by the IDF and rarely charged with any crime.

I have family working in Palestine for aid and medical agencies and they're witnessing these things on a daily basis.

I'm not posting further on this, especially on these threads for obvious reasons.

Surely hawks or eagles would be more effective?

Brexit deal impact in UK is worsening, warn economists

It's been said a million times before but considering that Brexit was supposed to punish the 'elites', it just punishes working people. Almost as much as austerity which Labour also tacitly supports.

I am sorry, but who thought Brexit was supposed to punish the elites?  :dunno:
