I still don't think we'd have been in title races, but I do think we'd have qualified for the UCL at least once more with all the money that would have brought with it.

Agreed, Liverpool and Man City were very good in each of those season, but we could have been the best of the rest.

One season of UCL money probably see us avoid our current issues.

It would have just delayed it. We would have just used the money to bring in more players that don't fit the squad and given players even more absurd contracts.

For example in the summer of 2020 our main target that we missed out on was Odsonne Edouard. It's not like if we had the money we would have made good investments.

Nah, we'd have genuinely just wasted the UCL money on another dud player on silly wages.

The issue in this club isn't the amount of money, we could generate a billion a year and we'd still be in trouble because we waste 90% of it on crap.

2020 Edouard could have been a reasonable investment, even if only for a season. He had been monstrous for Celtic. He's just completely and utterly broken as a football player now.

He was never as good as he was made out to be at the time. His movement and finishing isn't good enough for the PL, he just got a lot of the ball due to playing for a dominant Celtic side.

It's similar to how most of our players looked class in the championship and poor in the PL, it's easy to look good when playing at a lower level.

I don't for a second think he'd have threatened Vardy's place, but as an option aged 22 with some resale value? It might not have been utterly stupid.

The big miss was Lookman.

Yh lookman was a huge miss but I also don't think Rodgers would get the best out of him like Gasperini has.

I think we were a Mahrez type player sort of being really up there, and a bit of sqaud depth.

Amongst a lot of competition I think the Perez signing was the probably the very worst. £30m spent on an upwardly mobile wide player would have made the difference in 19/20 or 20/21.

He was slow, gutless and uncreative - I remember being dead against it at the time. @murphy was as well.

The fact we wasted a season long loan on a player that’s not even featured shows we still don’t know what we are doing.

I'm still astonished that it isn't mentioned more in pressers. What is the story here? How bad is Edouard?

Funny player, done well since leaving at Betis and Villarreal, 22 goals in 50 odd games.

The issue with Perez was always the fee, at 10m he would have been a good squad player.

We might finish below Ipswich this season, but at least we don't have a League One pre-game routine with a stadium announcer called Dave shouting "who are they" to try and get people going...

Same season as us last year. Looked brilliant at the start, began to fall off around Christmas and are now fully falling off. I think they'll get 7th and win the UECL, but that only gives them UEL. Not enough for what they've spent.

Think we can forget Chelsea for operation: bottletree. Bunch of Enzoball wastemen.

Villa will sort them out, don't worry.

Funny if he got sacked,  took over our manager role, got us promoted,  stayed with us and made us a long term powerhouse in the EPL.

I don't care for his style of course but anything is better than this seasons "style" also known as gengenasspressedin.

No Liverpool title today then. Glad, the focus can be on us and our relegation. Hope Sky give it the dressing down it deserves.

Coverage will be Leicester is relegated, expected with financial issues and how Wrexham will replace us and then proceed to suck Ryan Reynolds off for an hour (God bless him, he is a fellow canucker). Lol.

Ipswich 2-0 down and down to ten men, whoopsy.

Guess that means Liverpool ain't winning the title today? Which I'm fine with, makes the narrative all about our shitshow.
