Painful to see what we’ve become

Even keeping hold of Barnes and KDH would have put us in a better place but cause we have bought so many duds and gave out insane wages to players that don't even play for us we have had to sell or I imagine they would still be here now

Barnes going was the worst part of the relegation. The one quality player who seemed to be desperate to play for us despite being too good.

Just hits home, goals like that.

Huge amounts of people moaned about him at the time.....

Not having a dig but willing to hear an alternate view to mine. From his track record at Forest, preseason and now the first 4 games, what do you think he will do differently in that time frame to Christmas? To me, his lack of footballing nous and in game management are clear for all to see. Giving him till Christmas I believe would make relegation a fait accompli.

If was in a regular job and performed to the equivalent standard, I’m sure he wouldn’t pass his probation.

I just think getting rid anytime soon isn't what we do. He may well stink the place out, who knows ?

If he was in a regular job, of course he would probably be gone, but football is a mad industry, manager's get paid off with millions for failing,  It's not a 'normal' line of work.

His remit is to keep us up. Simple as.

He wasn't our first choice to take over, but there were few options given our financial situation.

Personally, the main issue is the people at the very top. Cooper has been employed by them.

This is only my humle opinion though.

Don’t think wolves will be in a relegation battle, they certainly seem better then us,

Not much in it. I think they have a bit more quality. And a decent manager. But the table rarely finishes exactly in terms of quality.

I don't think we are wildly different (a tad worse maybe) to Brentford, Fulham, Wolves, Palace, Everton .... Ipswich will.fight hard but we gotta expect to finish above them and saints to have any chance to stay up. Then just hope one of the list above hits freefall/ self destruct like we did two years ago.

Troy Deeney isn't becoming popular with his new BBC 'role', according to the comments..

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2ll0w3r2zo

People complained Gareth Crooks waffled too much and didn’t really stick the point .

They then complain Troy doesn’t say much and pretty bland .

Deeney is hardly going to be a big wordsmith tbh ..

Incredibly harshly judged by LCFC fans because we became so reliant on him.

He’s got 42 PL goals - keep fit, he will get 100 in his career

He is comfortably Europa League level at worst.

a prime example of how some people will never be happy.

homegrown, loved the club, unreal rates of return and the odd screamer like that  in his locker … yet almost a third of our fan base were glad to see the back of him :dunno:

We had similar with Brennan Johnson. It makes no sense.

On Villains failing to offer the meekest of opposition to being ripped off: “With monotonous predictability, club officials proved exactly how in touch they are by following the lead of other top-flight clubs and blaming the decision to rinse supporters on the Premier League’s pesky profitability and sustainability rules. Increasingly a convenient but completely disingenuous excuse behind which greedy club officials have found a relatively safe place to hide, they are increasingly cited as a “nothing to do with us, guv” justification to jack up the prices of everything from season tickets to match-day parking spaces and half-time pies. Astonishingly, large swathes of assorted fanbases seem to lap up this drivel.”

Indeed. It seems a servile obsequience extends to both the East and West Midlands.

You all deserve the shit coming your way.

Eh. Even we (Wales fans) find Johnson a little over hyped and frustratingly inconsistent.

You'd think a Tottenham speed merchant would be the first name on the team sheet but we're probably better off with the Ipswich rotation option, the Bournemouth bench warmer and the Leeds impact sub which says a lot.

Johnson could only dream of the consistent rate of return that Barnes put up in the Prem. His numbers for a player outside the top six were immense, it's crazy how under rated he was even by his own support.

I hadn't realised this rule had changed this season. It means less of the silly 11 added mins nonsense at the end of games.

"The average added time per game last season was 11 minutes and 36 seconds, almost double what it was just three years ago.

Again, more stoppages for substitutes is playing a part in that but the ball is also in play now for more minutes than ever before, with an average of 58:12 per game.

But this will likely change again this season, because of a change in the timing of goal celebrations.

Until now time was added on for every second between the ball hitting the net and the kick-off being taken.

Now the clock is only started after 30 seconds. So a game with six goals would have three minutes less of stoppage time."

Literally one of the best things they've done is ensure that time is added on properly. Of course they're trying to reign in it in now.

It could be argued that Brennan's goals and general contribution both got us up and then kept us up under Cooper.
