WHAT?! lol

What don’t you get? They were battering them until those subs. Completely killed their momentum and the flow of the game.

PSG are very poor defensively and a decent team would have hammered them tonight. Being good going forward isn’t everything.

Arsenal will bore them into submission

Still fancy them to lose it. Arteta is famously dull and negative, he'll let Real Madrid attack them for 90 mins. Could be equal by half time.

Youri Tielemans has had a hand in 13 goals in all competitions this season, his best tally in a single campaign since 2020-21 for Leicester (15 - 9 goals, 6 assists)

It’s change nothing about the latter stages

No obviously the latter stages can’t be changed can they, unless the loser of semi final 1 plays the winner of semi final 2 in the final? 🤣, my comment was about the early format change it’s defo changed for the best

PSG and Barcelona have been the two standout teams so far and both of them tonight showed huge vulnerability. You really could make a case for anyone left in - Real Madrid probably less than anyone somehow.

Fair play to Villa, made that far more of a contest than I thought it would be.

Uefa rules kick in... eight subs used.. but only 3 minutes added? Makes you think if it was the English club that were hanging on, would they add more time on? :ermm:

Villa played well and maybe deserved to least take it extra time. PSG similar to the Anfield performance, were lucky to get through I think.

Rooney showing his outstanding managerial instincts there: "Villa should have played for a clean sheet, and gone for it in the last 15 minutes."

....in a tie they were 3-1 down in lol

The point you replied to was about this game being good. The latter stages have always been good quality.

The penny hasn’t dropped for many that PSG’s success is in part because of the early format change. They only just qualified for the Top 24. They decided to rest players because the format is so open to abuse in this manner. Now their better players don’t have as many games in their legs. Next season the bigger clubs will realise the whole nonsense about finish 1st means a better draw is nonsense, win your 4 home games and you’ve qualified. Rest your best players in the away games

Ascensio Should have taken 1 more touch past the keeper than slotted it in instead of going for the nut Meg shot but easy for me to say I guess 😜

Amazing expert analysis from Rooney, can certainly see how he was success at Birmingham and Plymouth 🙄

Eh?  I''ve just gone back and checked every line up from their group stage.

They had 9+ players from last nights line up start every game. Considering one of them wasn't even available to them until the knockout phase. That's 9/10.

Also, it's very clear to see that the best form of defence against PSG is attack. Both themselves and Liverpool tried to play for a clean sheet at PSG's ground and both should have shipped 6+ goals.

Expert analysis happened in this and every match day thread on this forum it’s not just the ex-players that are made to look foolish.

After 15mins of this game it was predicted on here that PSG were going smash Villa, players like Rashford, McGinn and Martinez all singled out as not being good enough at this level, only for later to miss out on winning with the 2 former players being being subbed off as the reason they probably lost……when will poster realise a games at least 90mins long 🤷‍♂️

He will end up beating 15 too.

Easy to play with the foot off - keep the wins coming domestically.

Been given duff info tbh but it was pointed out to me that teams might not be so precious about their placings in the league phase now after PSG's position.
