Leicester 1- 1 Tottenham Post Match Thread

That passage of play for the second Vardy chance that was saved was class.  If we can get more of that we'll pump a few sides.

A good defensive workout for us too.  Looked largely solid.  And given the number of corners we gave away, that'd have been like giving away penalties in years gone by.  So improved on that front.  Vesty, the guy that apparently can't play for us at this level, was great.

He played deeper than he has in a year and didn’t see as much of the ball but he could read the game well and got his positioning right. Glad Faes kept his head all game until we needed him to commit a foul.

We could have been 3-0 down at half time. We've got to be tighter if we are to compensate for our lack of squad investment.

But the team shown character to come out fighting second half. Vardy, Fatawu, Kristiansen you can tell that these are the players who will refuse to be passive.

Promising performance from VK tonight. Hopefully that silences a few who have said he doesn't want to play for the club. Looked pretty committed to me.

Came on here to say the same thing. Very impressed with him tonight. Never stopped working. Defended and attacked extremely well.

Don’t want to get carried away because the half time score could have been embarrassing and this defence will ship a lot of goals.

However, for the first time in years we saw grit and determination in a game we looked outclassed in, and that turned the tables. It’s amazing how much better we looked purely because of getting a bit of confidence from the goal. Very encouraged by Buonanotte, Vardy looked like he still belongs.

Not confident we’ll stay up or anything, but a bit more hope than before the match.

What I loved most was the battle from everyone in the 2nd half, no one shirking out of 50/50s, everyone putting in a massive shift and looked desperate to get something from the game

Buonanotte looked brilliant, early days but if he carries on performances like that, we have some player for the season

Justin so much better 2nd half

Shout out to Vesty and Faes tonight, not very fashionable to give them credit by some on here but I thought they did bloody well tonight

Hermansen already looks like a top 6 keeper, think it may be the last season we have him

Great game from Abdul aswell, the lad doesn't stop

Chasing shadows in the first half and gave Madison far too much time on the ball. No pressing and pressuring the Spurs players.

Stepped it up 2nd half and could even have won the game. Thought Fatawu was fantastic in the 2nd half. They all were. Need to show that fight and determination on Saturday too and who knows what could happen against Fulham.

We were crap first half and that is a concern. But spurs will be top 6 this season. There will be other teams we won’t get quite so destroyed by.

We showed spirit in bucket loads tonight and we actually showed some genuine quality too.

Hoping that first half was first game lack of sharpness and it's gone now. Otherwise we'll be buried by half time.

But second half, we didn't look at of place. Even what appeared to be a horror pairing at cb in the Premier league seemed very steady. Facundo and Abdul looked a threat, Vardy linked up well.  Hopefully Skipp looks after the ball better than Wilf. Another attacking midfielder to replace BDR would be ideal.

Point I didn't expect. Good start

A few observations:

- we are back to playing hoof and press football, just like a newly promoted side. I would prefer that we try to retain the ball a bit and not hoof it up aimlessly. We are not that bad and the Maresca training should have helped. Not suggesting we always try to play out from the back either. In the last 15 mins, we could only defend because we just hoofed it up aimlessly. What a pity as we have some good dribblers and passers in the team and we had some momentum at the time

- Ndidi being pushed to press up front in the second half was the game changer. The less he spends at the bottom of the midfield the better for reasons previously mentioned

- Vardy still has it in his pressing game. Wish he scored that golden chance though

- Justin had an excellent game

- Great debut by B (I am not going to try to spell his name)

- Mav and Ricardo need to start ahead of Reid and Kristiansen

- early days but we are playing route one football again. I think we can be more sophisticated than that having played possession based football for the past 5 years
