21 + 6 and 10% was requested.

We've sent 23 + 2 and 15%

I guess that's getting accepted given it's likely better than what they asked for in both the long and short run lol

He said this morning that Genk countered with

€20m + €6m

So why have we offered

€23m + €2m + 15% sell on

Seems worse no?

There’s incompetence and there’s Leicester City incompetence…

Or the journalist is talking out of his backside?

HLN (who I think are the more reliable ones) have said Genk countered with

€21m + €6m + 10% sell on

Which I think would still be better than what we have offered?

They wanted 10% sell on as well.

I don’t think Tavolieri mentioned about a sell on did he? That was HLN

We've gone back and offered more cash up front and a bigger chunk of a... lets say £70m future deal.

Depending on what the sell ons are of course, surely in our situation we would a lower upfront fee?

Further incentive for a bigger chunk of money if he sells big in 2-3 yrs time.

It's not that bad a counter to be fair.

If a future sale of £50m happened, their terms would cost us £32m if add ons and sell on clause is all met. Our terms it would cost us £32.5m, classic Rudkin.

You're all just looking at numbers. Forgetting that the addons they've requested might not be the ones we're requesting.  Their 6mill addons might be for playing 38 games. Ours might be for winning the balon d'or.  It's not necessarily as black n white as you're making out.

Knowing Rudkin it'd be 'winning the Champions League in 24/25 season'

I mean it’s the difference of like 500k if he sells for £50m one day… it’s barely anything, just strange to negotiate especially if we are paying more up front.

All I can think of is their add on clauses were way to easily achievable.

there’s only so much you can kick a can down the road… maybe we are realising the problem we have next season with the outgoing commitments?

If that was a very achievable 5m … appearances for example, then maybe 5m in the books in the championship would not be ideal if we could just pay 3m to guarantee it now
