Tough few weeks for the club, losing 2 large personalities and key people in the success of King Power and Leicester City. Whilst Sven was unable to deliver on the field success there is no doubt his appointment massively raised the profile of the club and attracted some big name players.

Statement from Sven's family

 

After a long illness, Sven-Goran Eriksson died during the morning at home surrounded by family. The closest mourners are daughter Lina; son Johan with wife Amana and granddaughter Sky; father Sven; girlfriend Yanisette with son Alcides; brother Lars-Erik with wife Jumnong. The family asks for respect for their wish to mourn in private and not be contacted.

Very sad news I remember being very excited at the time when he was appointed city manager , I was at cov away his first game in charge great atmosphere and we won 

fond memories of England games too

Sad, if expected, news. A dignified and likeable man who progressed football in his home country and went on to bring good things to the other teams he managed. Rest in peace.

His first game was a 1-1 draw at home against NP's Hull. The Cov game was the first game of the following season.

We have posted about the Carabao Cup fixture so social media team are active. We were slower than other clubs regards Shakey as well but in fairness when we did post it was a very touching and well thought out statement. Hopefully they will follow suit for Sven.

Sven sven sven Goran Eriksson, he's a nice geezer though he is from Sweden!. Really sad news. Bit of a dirty dog in his Engalnd career, bedding Ulrika and others!. 

 

Let's not forget in his Leicester career he paid well over the odds for mediocre players like Mills and Beckford!.

 

But he was a gentleman so sad news none the less.

It’s been known that he would pass for months. We should have had something ready to go as soon as it was announced 

notts county clearly did and their media dept will be a lot smaller than ours. Man City managed 7 mins ago. 
 

it just adds to the impression that the club has fallen a long way from where it once was.

As your many Girlfriends would say, thank you Sven for a short time wonderful ride.  Gone but not forgiven. Enjoy the afterlife!!  Great man will be sadly missed.
