It is another example of how we don’t learn though. 

 

We are just incredibly bad at judging when a players stock is high. 

 

After hamza went to watford, clubs wanted him for 6-7m. Southampton and leeds both with interest.  Hamza was very helpful for us but his stock will be lower now and he walks on a free. We could have easily cashed in and still been promoted.

 

But this most resembles the iversen situation, iversen went to preston was their best player. We had good, pure profit offers on the table for what I heard was close to 5 mill but apparently we took a stance of it had to be at least 5m…. palace (and whoever else) told us to jog on and now he’s  worth maybe a mill but nobody can pay his wages. 

 

Same old, same old. As others have said, he’d need over 10 goals for championship teams to consider 5m again.  I think we’ve just misjudged it as why take a gamble when we could have just got rid and moved on. He’s obviously not highly regarded as we’ve had 2 managers not interested in even giving him cameos

Give him a minute though, eh? He missed a pen in a shootout where nobody wanted to score.

Agreed on how bad we have been at letting players go and it's set us back years. 

 

But I'd argue Hamza last season was worth more to us than that £6m. If he eventually goes on a free I don't think we'll look back on this era and moan about the money we lost on him over the rest of the catastrophic errors by the club. I'm actually glad as a local lad that he got last season. That WBA performance will live with us all for a long time.

He's not been in the game at all really, although that's down to his teammates too. Manhoef just went on a good break away and Cannon pulled away from his marker, Manhoef should have gave it to him for a decent chance, but he's been greedy and hit it wide.

I don’t know. For me Cannon has done his job there and made the space. The main disappointment is the shocking finish. 
 

He didn’t get much of a look in but there was a moment just before that where he got a lovely ball to his feet in the box and was so slow to react and the defender took it off him easily. 
 

His main advantage this next few months might be that they literally have no one else lol

100% agree. Would've been unpopular at the time but not selling Tielemans in 2021 if he wasn't going to sign a new deal as well. We'd have been looking at £50mil+.

Felt sorry for him. How many touches tonight, very few. Playing in a team without much heart doesn’t help.
 

He had a really poor game, but needs minutes and players around him who can bring him into the game.

To sum up, he attempted half a dozen headers from his own goal keeper and failed to connect every time. Had one shot on goal that had the local carpenter giving first aid to the corner flag. Ran about a bit but nobody would pass him the ball. 3 out of 10 for effort.
