customer dispute - help

Could be something similar here. She's had no luck with the person she might get recompense from, so she's chancing that she can intimidate you instead.

we are going to small claims court. we've got to gather information, dates, events etc a lot she has got wrong btw. essentially have to prove he isn't an employee of us. (which he never was, just someone we recommended but they could've always got another fitter) and that the contract is between them two in terms of the fitting of the product and sub floor prep.
