Premier League cannot take action against the club for exceeding the relevant PSR threshold

It's actually more akin to us having a beer in Saudi, returning to England shortly afterwards and being charged by the Saudis in our absence, then going back to Saudi and saying you can't do shit about that beer-drinking episode because when you charged us we weren't in Saudi. And being correct in our arguments.

I need a beer after all these analogies.

Isn't it the opposite?

We argued that the rules were ambiguous and open to interpretation.

We have successfully won the legal argument that the rules need to be applied as written - and not as interpreted.

So we have ADHERED to the rules,.not broken them

Except we changed the reporting date for our financial year end, probably for that sole purpose. We likely acted nefariously to exploit a loophole which (so far) screwed over the PL and the EFL.

Is it our fault the rules were 'buggy'? No, but I can certainly see why it's caused grief among many people.

To say we "adhered" to the rule is a bit of a stretch, verging on trolling, when we did manipulate things to our advantage.

Forest got punished for a 3 year period of which 2 years were in championship

But at the end of the 3rd year they were a premier club. Which matches up with our argument that at the end of our 3 year, we were a championship club.

Forest need to take a look themselves, they

breached in their first season…… if anyone needs a dressing down it’s them. They’ve thrown money around like Chelsea, and are still a bag of shirt. At least we’ve been successful.

We were successful, then spent money and got worse lol

Hilarious listening

Keeps claiming that LCFC have breached the rules. They haven't however he tries to frame it. If they had they would now be getting a points deduction.

LCFC asked for the Premier League rules to be applied correctly. The commission agreed. No technicality, no flouting, no cheating.

A victory for all clubs that dare to challenge the grubby 6.

Oddly, with this news, having resigned to relegation and writing off this season, we now have a glint of hope that with a bit of fight and spirit, we could stay up! Wonder if that would have changed our summer/transfer plans had we known earlier?

Feels like the footy equivalent of getting letters from TV licensing.

We have the telly, but they can't prove we used it to watch Doctor Who that one time. Even if we did, we watched it on iPlayer at our mate's house down the street, so it's him you need to chase, not us.

Besides, why would we just roll over and pay something we don't need to, that will just go into the pockets of predators?

we breached the PSR rules, we exceeded the allowable loss threshold. But the PL rules, in their current (poorly drafted) form meant that they didn't actually have jurisdiction over us to charge us for that breach.

But we still did breach.

I must confess after reading some of the Pl rules I was always confident the Club had a good chance of winning, Purely on legal ground which is exxactly what happened.

Now we can concentrate on staying up.

Don't rule out Compensation Claims by Everton and Forest now. Especially Everton who are financially broke.

Because of a quirk of the writing of the rules. If we hadn't gone down, we'd had got a points deduction. In terms of the rules regarding specifically spending, we know we failed them, we overspent. I'd suggest it’s more akin to having a beer in Saudi, returning to England and saying, well we're in England so you can't do shit now mate.

And you can only blame the person who wrote the rules for that!

Can you breach a rule if it doesn’t apply to you at the point of assessment?

I thought we were trying to sue Everton ourselves when we went down and they avoided punishment which could have made the difference? Might as well throw Forest in the mix while we're at it.
