Premier League cannot take action against the club for exceeding the relevant PSR threshold

The Premier League are ****ing laughable, they’ve essentially said in their statement.

“Yeah we know that is not how the rules are written but that’s how they should be interpreted and implemented”

It reeks of the “independent panel” being influenced by the Premier League/EFL in making their decision, the whole thing ****ing stinks (including ourselves btw) but hey if you can get cleared on a technicality it’s the fault of those writing the financial rules for not making them legally binding.

Presumably it stems from the greed of the Premier League in the first place by setting up outside of the Football League so they could get more money and power for its clubs.

But surely based on winning the appeal we would have been a premier league club at the end of the financial year

Someone just pointed out to me we moved our FY end date in April 2023 to June 30th 2023, probably knowing this was coming and could help. We don't know when the FY end was set for the 23/24 yet do we? We only have the 22/23 accounts I believe?

surely every team worried about possible  relegation will change their accounting year end?

Can’t see that it’s related to our accounting period end date

all clubs are required to report their psr position to 30 June (irrespective of when their accounting periods are - bringing them together simply makes things more straightforward and cheaper re auditing)

this is an anomoly that our lawyers sussed out

tbh, those that argued that relegation should be considered sufficient sanction were sort of making this argument in a different way

What happens if we get relegated - does the EFL get to deduct points for 23/24 breach of their rules or do we argue we were back in PL @ 30/6/24 & therefore outside of EFL jurisdiction & then we keep yoyoing until PSR removed 😉

We’ve already won that case lol
