He 15 years old playing for the under 21s, unless you know for sure that's he's demanding first team football thats plenty? There's no evidence to suggest he is but if he was, too bad.

Pandering to school children is no way to run any business

We're a football team, we're not going to give him gametime as a charity exercise.

Jeremy Monga is one of the best talents we have produced in a long time, he's not a "school kid" he's a potential 8 figure asset that we need to be careful to hold on to.

There's a good chance that giving Monga more incentive to stay with us than to move to a big 6 side will benefit us more than it does Monga.

He's 15 mate. Won't get a proper opportunity for a good 3/4 years yet.

The fact he's playing under 21, tell you the club feels he's physically capable of mixing it with players 5-6 years older them him.

Could easily be around the first team this or next season.

Ethan Nwaneri made his Arsenal debut at 15 and is the current record holder as youngest PL debutant

20 players have made the debuts PL in the 16s.

We all the loans out we have there is a good chance he's around the team at Walsall in the league Cup.

He's still at school. He's a school kid.

People have said the same about Alves for years and he still hasn’t broke into the starting match day squad.

Need to have patience with these young lads.

Small wager he does ...

I reckon he’ll be in the squad for Walsall. Perhaps just travelling squad but I bet he goes along. It’s absolutely no different to him playing for the 21’s against Burton is it. So I think you’re spot on.

I know we are all biased and yes we all want our team made up of our lads but come on let’s stop trying to put academy lads into the 1st years ahead of schedule.

They say the gulf between the championship and the premier league is massive with seasoned players struggling to make the jump up but some believe our academy lads can just walk in?

The last 16yr old to break into a 1st team was Rooney in 2002 that’s 22yrs where not a single 16yr old has risen to the dizzy heights and not 1 of our lads is being talked about how Rooney was back then because they are not yet ready.

Foden is probably the next youngest at 17/18, even Cole Palmar was 20 & not done him much harm..let them grow!

They have a pathway as mentioned this lad is playing in the U21s as are a few others that are playing above their age group no longer do we have a U21 made up of 23yr olds.

As for losing him if we don’t put him in the 1st team, we are in the lap of the gods because he can’t sign any professional papers till he’s 17 anyway and if a Man C or Chelsea come a knocking and turn his head very little we can do.

Premier league 1st team or in general any English league, regarding a 16 year old breaking into it?

Jude Bellingham was in Birmingham’s.

Bellingham having his shirt number retired by Birmingham after he left was silly. You could tell he was a real talent though, even at that age.

One of the funniest things about this forum is you can’t say this guy’s name (without an a)

Changing móng to disabled is worse than just letting people say it lol

Alves wasnt playing in the u21s at 15 years old. He also had that ACL at 17, otherwise i think he would have broken through last season.

For heavens sakes, don't put him anywhere near TV cameras, let alone the first team squad, before he can sign a professional contract.

You'll know more about this than me.... surely we can start laying the ground work now about how 'amazing' his pro contract will be.

I know at the end of the day the lure or the big 6 will be strong regardless. But we must be able to sound him and his family out with some sort of ridiculous package to at least keep him here in the meantime?

I quite often thought maybe this was the clubs tactic. Keep prying eyes away, limit exposure regardless of the demand from fans who aren’t happy with the information we receive from the youth teams.

Surely any club at the top level with competent staff will have contacts who can tell them about the best young players in every professional teams academies

Yes that's correct. I know someone who is having a trial with a Prem club. But, all the recruitment/scouts are all aware of young players that are available.

Yes but it would make sense not to amplify it, it seems strange why the club limit its youth coverage.  At the moment it feels like we sometimes rely on a random South American twitter account who seems to disclose more information than the actual club.

All Academies know who is good out there and what level they’re at within the english game. (And probably Scottish)

they won’t know about other countries unless they have a more sophisticated database system and people out there with responsibility.  Academics are all playing each other from a fairly young age. Of course kids undergo  a big physical change as they go through puberty and you can’t be certain how they’ll emerge.

there are no secrets - of course if monga was to play against Walsall and score a hat trick then he becomes known to everyone in the game and there would be owners asking their recruitment teams how they can get hold of him. That’s the risk of him being exposed - there are incredible talents at all academies - knowing which ones to target is what the rich six are always working on.
