Palace, A Match Thread

Because people are acting like they know  more than the manager and his staff who see these players every day purely based on historic form, it’s silly

Yeah and that is an argument that actually makes some sort of sense whereas saying he's out of form doesn't, that's all

Well to be honest it should be obvious, but the mentioned his form as the only game we have seen him play, he was poor, but admittedly it’s not a large sample size.

None of Ricardo, Facundo, Bilal or Abdul in the starting line up, make no mistake he is not helping himself in the slightest, this is a winnable game and to set up so negatively is absolutely criminal.

This is all the hallmarks of Puel, poor team selections, concede the game in the first half then make the subs to correct the mistake and see a half arsed attempt to save the result in the 2nd half, which masks what is rank bad management and a man so far out of his depth tactically.

His brand of negative fearful football is already stinking the gaff out, it isn’t grinding out results, it’s tedious and frustrating as we are letting opportunities to win points slip our grasp by showing teams way too much respect.

This is pure damage limitation, he knows this wasn’t a universally popular appointment and it seems he is setting us up to try and avoid a hammering, he knows if we lose a couple convincingly he will be under severe pressure. Lose by the odd goal but barely a whimper of an attack and he will probably get away with it for a few more games. Honking mentality.

What is it about our recent managers and their stubbornness bordering on stupidity?

To persist with Ndidi alongside two other dms is insane.

The really stupid thing is his substitutions suggest he kinda know’s what the right combinations are (bar Ricardo) - he’s just afraid to go with it from the off.

Thing is - the effect pressure can have on thought processes is perhaps not fully understood by fans.

Yes, the right starting line-up seems obvious to most and this isn’t it - but if you’re contemplating something all week, knowing you seriously need to get a result here in terms of your job - it can contribute to massively over thinking and coming up with the mess he’s set out here.

Maybe he’ll get there?

Mav has forced his way in which you can at least say is a positive in the lineup.

I expect Fawatu to get on the pitch at some point too and hopefully be in the mood to show in no uncertain terms he’s starting material too.

Were also likely to see at least one of our two natural 10’s on the pitch at some point too - the hope has to be, we’re still in the game at that point.

I think that Cooper needs to come out and explain what he is trying to achieve tactically because there is a growing disconnect with the fans regarding this over-cautious, shackled set up.  Maybe we're missing something.

Personally, I'd rather go down fighting than set up for Crystal Palace as if they're Real Madrid.

He is a Championship manager, said this before the only reason he kept Forest up was because we went down and we should never have gone down with the Squad we had.

So Rudders and board left it to late to sack Rodgers to then employ a manager that would of been relegated if we acted sooner.

So is Mav playing on the right wing if VK is playing on the left.

i think Kristiansen will make the runs overlapping which will enable Mavi to come inside more easily if he wants ti get shots off. not bad in theory.

I dont mind Ayew on right as long as Fatawu gets 30-35mins.

the midfield three i just dont understand, given how it just hasnt worked so far.

Our only realistic hope is that we lose the next few games then sack cooper.

Every interview he gives makes him sound like he's got no idea.

Ndidi is the worst number 10 in the league by a mile and is stealing a position from other players.

On the radio right now he's saying that he wants to ignore any criticism or negatives about his tactics or management.

Fück him out of the club as quickly as possible.
