The EFL are a bit like the Black Knight in the Holy Grail.

More like the bridge guardian.

"What is the punishment for spending £83m?"

"Is that for an EPL or EFL team?"

"What!?!? I don't knoooooooooooooooo..."

They’re just sounding bitter now.

Isn’t the idea behind psr to prevent teams getting into financial trouble? yet their punishment could lead clubs onto the road of exactly that. It’s like points deductions for admin, a club is on its knees after financial mismanagement, the people that caused it have rode off into the sunset yet everyone who remains suffers. There needs to be another way.

If Man City had faced the kind of shit we have to put up with we'd have been in the CL twice and none of this would be an issue.

A genuine passage from the report from a couple of weeks ago:

36. Subsequently, at paragraph 49, it stated:
49. The PL submits that the PSRs for a particular Season involve an
accounting process and must continue to apply, however, long it
takes for the accounting process to be concluded. It further submits
that a breach of the PSRs in a given season has a detrimental effect
on other clubs in the competition in that season, that effective
enforcement of the PSRs is important
, and that it would not accord
with the purpose of the PSRs if they were construed in such a way
that a breach "became untethered from the season in which the
adverse effect on competition was felt or the PSRs failed to affect
overspending incurred in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid
relegation".

It took them 10 years to even start investigating them in 2018; they started a year before UEFA made their decision and concluded with the announcement of the charges in February 2023.

They haven't even started investigating them for the seasons after 2018. Yet they're complaining in our case about the detrimental effect on other clubs. They're utterly clueless.

Pathetic. The wording in there lets the mask slip that it is not about the rules but just bitterness.

It’s all very tiresome. Maybe it would have been easier to just go along with it and get our house in order going forward. It would have meant definite relegation this season but now we have this to look forward to when relegated and if anyone thinks PGMOL won’t be working alongside the PL to make sure that happens, you are very naive. Last Saturday, exhibit A….

If PGMOL are in on this shady conspiracy, why did the linesman flag for offside in the first place when he could just as easily kept his flag down and let VAR do the work? Was he a rogue agent? If he dies in a freak 'accident' soon, I guess we'll know why...

To put it another way, do you think we will get a single one of ‘those’ go in our favour this season?

Not a chance Coventry sells out against us before all the success we have had.

co*’s away support increased massively while they were playing their games at Northampton etc. It continued when they got their stadium back. Nothing to do with our success etc.

I'm on about their home attendance against us. Only time they've sold out without Leeds bringing about 8k

It wasn’t capacity due to their weird decisions to close down parts of the ground for H&S. Winds some of them up no end if you mention they’ve never sold out their ground 😏

Just as they did with Luton 30pts. It's only the fans that suffer. The ones that have fvck all say in what the clubs do or how they are run.

But we all know it's criminally run. The other 86 clubs should pull out and reform the game. Let the big six play with themselves. Go fvck off to Europe we really don't need them but they need the rest of us.

what did sheff utd get charged with to get docked 2 points at the start of the season?

Sheffield United were deducted two points for defaulting on payments to other clubs during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons, with a further two points suspended.

One thing that really irks me about this is when the media reports that we're in any sort of financial trouble. (Side irk - the media genuinely don't care about clubs outside of the Big Six and rarely ever report things accurately or from other teams perspectives) We're not in any sort of financial trouble. We have stable ownership with a decade and a half of evidence of investment within the rules and a proven sustained record of winning trophies and achieving the club's ambitions fairly. The only thing that changed was the rules tightening to prevent competition.

They got away with a -£4m fine each for the Super League because anything harsher would have been 'punishing the fans'

It's a bad enough look when they have to go after teams and disrupt the table as it is. But to know they're actively trying to do this is quite sad.

Derby fans kind of got laughed at for claiming they were never going to stop until they got relegated from the league as punishment and it looks on this evidence that they were right.

The amount of dodgy deals that will be going on to get Man City off with the lightest punishment as well. Some of their charges should be a matter of criminality anyway, they're out right fraud.

I just keep telling myself that i want to go down to league 2 and complete the set.

Even better win L2, get relegated and get successive play-off promotions to EPL, winning the FLT along the way. We'd have won every domestic trophy this century.

I mean, that would be like delaying Everton's first PSR punishment so long, some other club got relegated instead of them ... oh wait.
