Has anyone talked about the fact that there was a delay to the second half (albeit a rather small one) but not a word from anyone in the stadium. Not on the screen or an announcement. A bit poor that

I think it speaks to the quality of the game that I didn’t even notice the delay until I read it in the match report 🤣.

Was a pretty rough watch with two teams locking confidence played in pretty bizarre conditions. At kick off the team selection looked ok to me.

Three main concerns during the match. I struggle to describe our style of play and we don’t look like we have a cohesive plan for how to attack. There were some dreadful individual decisions/moments across the team. Then most of all the f-fun subs! We equalise, Everton confidence shaken so the obvious is to turn the screw and attack. Get Fatawu, Eduoard and Skipp on! Don’t wait till the 88th min to bring Fatawu on then replace Mavididi!

Cooper definitely comes across as a manager who wants to not lose more than he wants to win.

Did you listen to the game in Spanish commentary or something?

If you could explain to me what part of that performance was acceptable today, and explain to me why he he’s left Ayew on to attack a 39 year old left back, when he could have picked Ricardo and Fatawu to attack him, but instead chose to bring Fatawu on in the 88th minute, and play him on his weaker side???

If you can explain any of that without sounding like a hippie on acid, I’d be impressed?

Ricardo is a right back not a right winger. Fattawu is not up to Premier League standard yet.

I'm somewhere in between really. I think man for man it's probably one of the 3 worst squads in the league so 17th would be a good result this year. But I'm not thrilled with what Cooper's doing. I'm just willing to give him a bit more of a chance than most others on here. And I'm not convinced that a Maresca style team would be doing any better.

I had reservations about the prospect of trying to Maresca our way through the PL myself and I was indifferent to his leaving.   I didn't know much about Cooper when he was appointed but he has just lost me with the negativity and lack of belief.  I think we can do much better with the handbrake off.

I guess my feeling toward Cooper would be best put by saying that it is one thing to fail to beat Everton at home, but it is quite another to not even try to beat Everton at home.

Why did he bring him on to replace our most threatening player on the pitch in the 89th minute?

I’d imagine if that deal was going to happen, sooner rather than later is best for both clubs

The people around me today were so against cooper almost saying he was Bodgers 2.0, for some reason I just don’t buy into his philosophy he hasn’t won in the PL for some time I don’t know how many but his appointment was like no one else wanted the job because of the PSR deduction of points so we went for Blooper but now we’re safe of any deductions can we tempt Corboran Potter or another decent manager other than Forests cast offs?

Our opportunity to get Corberan came and went in the summer. He’ll be managing in the PL next year, but not with us.

Which would be a Fuching Damn shame if Cooper is still with us come December I’ll be surprised a knee jerk PSR appointment that never should be I’d rather see Vardy being player manager !!

For a bit of balance, draws are important to pick up. We came close to falling short last season as we were too easy to beat, lost too many games and lacked the ability to supplement the wins with draws. Fortunately we won enough games.

Obviously now we have gone the other way. Become harder to beat and grinding out draws but to back up what wins? With the negative set ups and in game management, I can completely understand the ‘where is a win coming from’ train of thought. To be 2-0 up last week at a poor Palace and not win, and to be outplayed at home by an awful Everton side is so so poor however you try to dress it up.

I would maybe be of the view that it was ok had we drawn due to Pickford having the game of his life or the woodwork being constantly tested, signs that it just wasn’t out day but the ingredients are there. But it still seems so far off.

To end of a positive, set pieces seem to have improved. The move for Okolie’s header over and then goal. I think we got a new set piece coach didn’t we? Hopefully a club appointment and not linked to Cooper if he does get the boot before long.

Nice try, Burt.

However Here’s a screen shot that shows that it was Faes who was woefully out of position for the first goal leaving a massive hole that Justin TRIED to cover but couldn’t  get to in time.

classic tactic. Pull the CB out of position and exploit the hole.

but yeah, let’s not let the facts get in the way of some good old JJ  ( and MPH) bashing eh?

and for what it’s worth they did the exact same thing in the 4th minute and we fell for it again a few minutes later.

How can you not spell my name right when it’s right there? lol

Faes is out of position. Correct. But the goal has still come from Justin’s side. Ignore everything else i said though!

So playing Ricardo at right back who gets forward isn’t at right back? Ah okay, so you don’t think Fatawu a young explosive winger would cause a 39 year old any problems?

Am predicting a 'shock' win at Arsenal, with Fatawu starting..:fc:

Just sense that this isn't all over yet, and something quite unexpected will happen.

The clubs shit, so it doesn’t surprise me. They couldn’t run a bath.

And on a side note, what’s happened to the old guy who reads the team out? Have I missed something or has he left?

Haven't you said you've got a feeling we're gonna win every game so far? Eventually you're gonna be right.... hopefully

There's a young guy who does it. Been doing it for a while now I think (possibly since last seaon maybe more?)

I thought we were awful. Everton should have been out of sight in the 1st half. Cooper hasn't won a PL match in 18 games - only paid attention to the last 5 and can see why - doesn't have a clue

Better after FB (our best player in the 1st 2 matches, but randomly dropped since) came on, but still didn't create enough

Everton had a full back issue and we should have started with Fatawu instead of Ayew.

We didn't use out bench effectively - we can use 5 subs these days and despite taking control of the game failed to create anything real and had to rely on a lucky corner

Ricci superglued to the bench and Vestegaard relegated to the naughty step - both would be involved with a Manager who had the squad behind him

We didn't have our young academy international McAteer in the squad, who would offer more from the bench than Reid - although as already advised - Cooper ain't going to use the bench anyway

Not sure if it is the players or what Cooper is getting out of our players - this looks to be our worst team ever in the PL (Basset & the 2002 squad are their only challengers)

Thing that surprised me more with the way we are ran is we didn't water the pitch at half time.
