You’d think he’d have a bit of personal pride and walk away.

I agree but he won't do it for the simple reason that as such a massive failure he's unlikely to get another job.  His only hope is to hang on in there and if we do better in the Championship he won't look as bad.

Must be PSR again. Sack him and loss too much for financial year?

But we won’t be in the EPL, so what does it matter?

Because the EFL will have responsibility for overseeing our accounts next season and they’re even bigger ***** than the EPL?

It doesn't matter does it? We can just sell a player before the end of the accounting period to make up for it.

Just take the points deduction, having this dead weight managing the club is essentially a 10 point deduction anyway

The PSR excuse has significantly reduced this clubs value and is now risking its future. The PSR excuse, is an excuse for every club in this league. Where the excuse is having a significant impact on you in comparison to your peers (which it is given our drop), DROP THE ****ING EXCUSE.

Take the calculated risk and maintain the integrity of the club.

At the same time, stick the kid owner in a nursery for the foreseeable - they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree but in this case, he’s nothing but a disappointing mess.

This of course is the same Cooper whose side conceded EIGHT times in two hidings against RVN, and made him seem like Martin O'Neill at his peak.

This happened less than six months ago. There should be no excuse for forgetting it.

I am fully on board with blaming Cooper for making RvN look better than he is and contributing to us actually hiring him.

The comparisons are laughable for all the reasons stated a million times before. Both horrifically missing the mark for the correct appointment.

And if people have forgotten again, the board and players are more culpable as the former weren't even aligned on the appointment of Cooper from the off, and the players hated him and wanted him binned.

The squad is total naff and we were going down either way.

How on earth is this man still in the job

Lost 14 of the last 15 games

Scored 4 and conceded 37 in those 15

Last scored a goal on the 26th January, 8 games ago

Last scored a home goal 8th December, close to 5 months now

If you take out the first 2 games (which seems like a an extreme outlier given what has followed) we have an xg of 11.25 in 15 games, the next lowest is Southampton on 14.30

We have 0 clean sheets in 17 games under him.

There is absolutely nothing remotely competent, we can't score goals, we can't create chances, we can't defend, his tactics are shit, his substitutions even worse

He leaves me longing for the glory days of Steve Cooper when we were just shit, not historically shit

We were incredibly lucky to get anything out of the West Ham or Brighton home games.   They were both all over us, and a pair of 0-3 scorelines wouldn't have flattered them.

How tf did it get to this?

For the second time in years we aren’t sacking a manager because we can’t afford the pay-off.

Absolutely pathetic.

Rudkin, Whelan and Top should be on trial for the damage they’ve caused and are causing.

I can forgive winning but not scoring, not even looking like scoring, is an embarrassment. We are getting worse with each game, Van Nistelrooy has made us worse than were were and the ownership are a joke for letting this all continue.

I've never got the point of the Premier League being pissed off with us for the PSR Court Case following us being Relegated and "avoiding sanction".

Surely the bigger, much bigger, point is we were Relegated and that's the flippin' ultimate sanction!!!

Not 2, 4 or 6pts deducted, we were already Relegated.

We didn't duck the system, we left the League by the ultimate self-sanction of being financially useless at the same time as being useless on the pitch.

Their rule book just needs amending to say - if Relegated and suffering immediate self harm financially from that, then no point at all sanctioning you further - ON TOP OF THIS.

You've done this to yourselves worse than we would've done it to you.

Bizarre this ever wasn't a simple solution of points deduction - If not already relegated

I don't buy the PSR thing.

The club are trying to save face. Even though it was right to sack Cooper, they were panned by the wider football community and everyone knew getting this duffer in was a massive risk (lad's got a great aura, mind)

It would just confirm to the football world their ineptitude if they sack him now with such an abject record. They'd be made to look foolish.

They're desperate for this to work out so they can say "see, it was the right call," even if that means keeping him on into next season for a Championship push.

It's all about perception.

Even more foolish than losing 14 of our past 15 games? Than being only the 4th side in English top flight history to lose seven consecutive games without scoring? Than being the first PL team to concede the first goal in 25 out of the first 30 games?

Keeping RVN is not saving the owners' faces - it is actively damaging their brand. Every time we lose without scoring it makes them look even more foolish. Nobody would judge them negatively for sacking RVN given our record under him - it's what any other club would do.

A literal bag of human shit would have done a better a job, a literal bag of horrible post-kebab IBS shit.
