The gap is huge, but we were not your typical newly promoted side, we had been relegated with a squad that should have been comfortably mid table on the back of European football, we had by far the best squad in the championship, we were an established premier league club out for one season, we should not be going down again.

You really think that squad was capable of mid table??It was clear from the outset that we just weren't good enough. Losing KDH and Fatawu injury didn't help and that coupled with disastrous signings meant it was inevitable from very early on. I don't know what team you've been watching?

Relegation was always on the cards but its embarrassing how feeble and abysmal our attempt at surviving has been.

Yesterday we needed to win to avoid relegation yet we had one striker up front and Faes and Coady were just tapping the ball between one another.

It's not that they're not good enough. I think everyone can handle their team not being good enough. But when they don't even attempt to score goals at home? It's beyond embarrassing and everyone involved needs to go. Total 100% refresh needed.

Really torn because although it is meaningless I would like to score a goal and win a game again but I know our board would look for anything to avoid sacking managers and stick with this failing project.

Ipswich had League One players that massively overachieved in Championship with the momentum of that promotion. They were nowhere near ready.

Managerial decisions have killed us. Look at Wolves. They barely had a point when O'Neil was sacked but Pereira has massively turned them around. Van Nistelrooy was a disaster of an appointment and Cooper was a bad one. Didn't help that we went into the season expecting a points deduction.

The board can start getting us back onside by making a decision on Ruud now and then ensuring that the new man (and backroom team) are in place as soon as they can be.

We need to know which players we have to work with next season and which players need moving on. Ideally this is done now so we can only use those that are staying for the rest of the season.

This will mean that the bulk of next seasons squad and the management team are in place for 1st day of preseason.

We can’t afford to drag our heels on this. Need to turn our early relegation into a positive and use the extra time we have effectively.

We could have challenged for 17th and it was realistic until RVN took over but no chance with RVN at the helm.

Disaster of a season killed off by two bad management appointments and a ropey transfer window.

Need a new manager and a better recruitment team.

Shall we have a sweepstake for the announcement time? I'll go with 11:40

Nah Rudkin & Co will just carry on as usual  can’t see them owning up to their mistake of hiring a flop, they will just let him see out the last 5 games they won’t want to open the wallet to pay him off and I can’t see Ruud walking away for nothing !

But I’d say Sack the Fraud and give the role to Kingy for last 5 games !!

If he isn't sacked today he's gonna be here next season isn't it?

I wouldn't draw any conclusions, we still have games to play. Dean Smith didn't leave for two weeks after relegation in 2023.

Did I really just read this?

Not calling you out but comparing Ruud who has zero credit in the bank to McKenna at Ipswich is a pretty huge stretch.

Just saying how difficult it is to bridge the gap between the Championship and Premier. RVN has had no money or been able to  build a squad of his own. Mckenna has spent near on 150m and they are still going down. A sense of perspective please.

Don't excuse Ruud for being WORSE than Cooper.

A sense of perspective?

Ruud (rightly or wrongly) has the 13th highest wage bill and knew the squad when he joined.

But if we forget that as we can all agree that our players are hideously overpaid.

We have not scored at home in 9 consecutive games which has broke all sorts of records.

Lost 16 of his last 18 games as our manager.

No, you are missing the point, the squad that was relegated with Brendan was comfortably a mid table squad.

This seasons squad was doomed from the start,  shit management and shit recruitment, with the right signings we should have been OK.

Honestly, there is no point in sacking him now because the hierarchy at the club is the same.  If the hierarchy doesn't change we won't attract the right candidate and getting a big upgrade on RVN won't be possible.

This club is a disaster zone right now.  Simply replacing the manager immediately will solve NONE of the underlying problems we have at the club.

The time for MAJOR changes in how the club is run is here.  The manager (whoever that is) is just a cog in the machine.  We need a new machine.

Never in the history of the Premier League has one manager performed so badly and kept his job.

We might as well play without a manager as this one, as many have said, is ruddy useless.

Van nistelrooy needs to go, but so do some at board level.

Lots of changes needed in personnel. My concern is any new manager might give some of these players another chance in the championship and the cycle continues.

It is evident there is lots of player power at Leicester so we need a strong manager who comes in and is ready for a complete rebuild and if this board remains the same can come in and tell them it's his way or no way.

Any new manager.. it's exciting for them to do the rebuild and mould the squad etc in there style but also difficult as fans and board will expect an instant return especially as we did it only a few seasons ago.

I think we need to start using seagrave more and using the academy to build a team around but also to fund the club long term.
