It’s an amalgamation of issues & we are at the point of the perfect storm sadly.

3 years of poor decision making by Top & Rudkin, continual poor contracts, generally horrendous player acquisition, then picking Cooper, wasting £60m on Skipp, Ayew, BDCR  & Edouard & then picking a manager because they had to with VERY limited experience & not for a relegation battle AND leaving him with a horrendously limited squad, who now 75% don’t care.

Hence last nights debacle.  And a losing relegation battle upcoming.

I think he'll leave by mutual agreement this weekend. His position is simply untenable now. 10 defeats in 11, basically saying in his interview last night that the players can't even compete with a lower mid table team at home, players falling out on the pitch and patently giving up last night, and he's showing absolutely no sign of having any ideas on how to turn this around (in fact, doubling down on the same failing approach again and again).

Unfortunately I think it’s time to get rid. Two terrible appointments one after another.

Corberan was a missed opportunity, look what he is now doing at Valencia and trying his best to save their season. Also spunking £20 million plus on Skipp, madness!

Needs a Bielsa or Pearson type in a senior, permanent position above the manager.

Someone with extensive experience, a complete philosophy and an obsessive approach to the details.

Rudkin doesn't have the experience and it's shown since 2018. Too much licence given to managers.

Brendan was anointed and given a golden ball and chain bolted to the supporting pillars of our finances. The club put its faith in the wrong man.

Unfortunately the board has dug a moat around itself and doesn't look likely to let anybody in to see what exactly is going on inside the castle.

Cooper wasn’t great. He had 12 Premier games. We did however pick up points in those games.

We are scoring less,  on seeing more and the xG stats are worse.

Before people start about Cooper having a fitter squad. Ricardo played 2 games (Forest / Ipswich). Fatawu played 11 games. Albeit some of those were minimal minutes. Stolarkzyk was a steady stand in for Hermansen.

The players are the problem, however RVN isn’t the person to get the best out of them.

I get that, but changing now won't save the season. Probably better to have a complete fresh start close season than bring someone in and get the malaise of this season tainting the start of their time.

Hardly.

Two shocking appointments in a row is a big problem.

However, as was reported at the time, RVN was Top's choice.

I used to be home and away every week during that period, remember when we finally won away v Stoke, 1-0 Gary Mills. Some lads started signing jingle bells and got shushed quickly by the nervous supporters around them. lol

I was the same as you, not great times, but tacitly ahead of his time

Agree. If he leaves now he can at least point to the lack of activity in January. If he waits until the end of the season (losing most of the games) his rep will be terrible

So Rudkin may have made one mistake with managerial appointments in recent times if he appointed Cooper and even that was based on his record at Forest. I just think the tweet is far too simplistic and just jumping on the bandwagon.

The club needs to move fast this weekend to move him out, it’s not a good look now having him in charge with one of the worst records in Premiership history we are a laughing stock and the players have given up.
Out in next 24 hours and interview candidates next week.

2?

Rodgers was a huge success, but was allowed to stay too long and have no consequences to a year or so of failure. Which ultimately has us where we are now.

Enzo had a squad good enough to compete in the Prem, a wage budget dwarfing the rest of the league and still only just won the league.

Rodgers was obviously a success, him staying for too long is nothing to do with the initial appointment. Maresca was brought in to get us promoted and he did it so it’s a bit harsh to say he wasn’t a good appointment.

David Moyes is busting that myth!

Another excuse for the Dutch Peter Taylor.

You cannot polish a turd no matter how good you’re

Not defending RVN, just saying he isn’t blessed with talent
