Anyone remember this?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30156731

I put £100 on Chelsea after 50 minutes at something like evens. Sunderland were camped in their box and it just seemed like a matter of time.  :(

Remains the only game this season in which they have failed to score and it's the one I had a ton on.

I did win a £10 5-fold accy a couple of months back to win £173 though, so I suppose things do even themselves out over time, but that doesn't stop me wanting Chelsea to crash and burn this season as a result of that game lol

Oh and here's one for you, chaps. Bet365 have an in-play offer on the Madrid game tonight that guarantees a win. Put a bet on before kick-off (up to £50) and then bet £50 in play. If the in-play bet loses, you get your stake back. All you have to do is bet on the goal line to guarantee yourself winnings.

Think I'm going to go for 3.5 goals over/under, but you could go for 2.5 too. Seems pointless to do that, though. Although I guess there's more chance of there being under 2.5 goals than over 3.5, giving you the best chance of a decent sum of money. It's all about being ambitious though, isn't it?!

2.5:

Over - £50 returns £105 (£5 profit)
Under - £50 returns £85 (£35 profit)

Bet on under 2.5 goals before the match and as soon as it kicks off, bet over 2.5 in-play. (Or leave it a bit while the odds run up if you're a gambling man.) If your in-play bet wins, you will be £5 up. If your original bet wins, you will be £35 up. (You'd win the £85 then get your £50 in-play stake back.)

3.5:

Over - £50 returns £185 (£85 profit)
Under - £50 returns £63 (£13 profit)

Again, bet on under 3.5 before the game. If this won, your in-play bet will have lost and you will get the £50 back. £13 profit. If your in-play bet wins, you'll be £85 up. Happy days.

OR, if you're feeling adventurous (I may yet go down this route. I could do with the money)

4:  - In this instance you get your stake back if exactly 4 goals are scored.

4 goals - Break even
Over - £50 returns £345 (£245 profit)
Under - £50 returns £55.25 (£5.25 profit)

Just depends how much each sum of money means to you I suppose. It kind of makes sense to go for the last option because you're getting a completely risk free chance of £245. However, the chances of there being 5 or more goals in this game, are very slim. Can see it being a cagey affair. Definitely food for thought and I still don't know how to play it yet.

EDIT - Just noticed if you click the 'goals' tab on the game, you can also chose 4.5 and 5.5 goals. You essentially get given £1 to bet on there being over 5 goals with a chance of winning £850. If this ends up being 3-3 and I chose not to do it I don't know what I'll do.

a chap in work supports reading and says there's value in bournemouth handicaps or anything that involves bournemouth annihilating reading tonight. reading have won 1 of their last 6, are pretty doggo and are supposedly resting basically anyone who has a slight chance of being needed in the cup semis at the weekend. bournemouth are top of the league and need to keep winning.

8/15 or so on bournemouth should boost any acca, and like i said -1 or even -2 handicaps, bournemouth win to nil etc etc should all be considered according to him.

Doing the Bet365 offer tonight-

£50 pre game bet over 0.5 goals 1/14

£6 with Hills- no goal scorer 17/2.

That more or less bar a couple of quid covers the pre game bet and leaves me a free stab at winning something decent with the £50 in-play bet.

Great shout. Hadn't thought of it like that.

I dont know if im just being dumb, but im not sure whether this promotion will work to anyones advantage

Lets say you put the maximum on of £50 and cover the losses both ways so youve got your original stake back

Youve still got to place an inplay bet to qualify for the risk free bet if your first inplay bet loses

So by the time you are granted your inplay risk free bet, youll have already lost a bigger stake trying to qualify for the free bet and losing, and then there will be no value around to use your free bet with?

The free bet is going to be paid winnings only, so to get your money back on the risk free bet youd have to be placing at least at evens, to recover what you just lost trying to qualify for the bet.

I dont see how the bet is anything but a loser to hook you in.

Please someone explain to me that im not an idiot

Let me put a theoretical example up:

I am interested in the offer on Atletico v Real.

I place £50 on there being a goal in the game at 1/14, which essentially is just to qualify for the offer.

I then place £6 with another bookmaker on no goalscorer at 17/2, which as good as cancels out this loss, or vice versa whichever loses.

I need to place an inplay bet to qualify for a risk free bet.

So if i place an inplay bet and it wins, I dont get a risk free bet, i might as well have not bothered with the offer and just made an inplay bet instead and not risk £50 before the game outright.

If my inplay bet loses, i get a risk free bet of £50. But if i put the bet on anything other than evens, i am out of pocket.

If i put my risk free £50 on at 1/2, ill be paid £25 into my account. So I would have won the bet, and lost £25.

If i put my risk free £50 on at evens, id have won the bet and still only have £50, but in the process id have lost the first inplay bet and thus have lost overall.

If i put my risk free £50 on long odds to make a profit, i stand to lose anyway, and will be refunded £50 into my account, so in essence id be back where i started before a ball was kicked and gained absolutely nothing from the risk free bet, but id be a loser overall because my first inplay bet would have had to have lost in the firstplace to be having the 2nd bet.

Wish me luck fellas! Biggest bet I've ever done! Back down to £20 bets if this bombs, I hold my hands up its a very risky one.

I think Chesterfield is certainly coming in! Bristol City, Bournemouth & Derby all winning. Great start
